We had a rerouted flight and ended up spending a night at the Quality Inn. Conveniently this pub was attached and easy to access. However we would plan to come back on a future trip as the food and beer were both excellent, there were lots of TV’s to watch Olympics and the staff were very friendly yet efficient! Highly recommend for a pub experience.

Waddling dog burger, worst burger in south island..... the burger patty is a nasty frozen patty and is actually inedible, took it off and ate the rest as a sandwich.

This place is amazing and the bartender Austin is quite possibly the most amazing human being Ive ever met. While I was sitting at the bar I was suddenly ambushed by a pack of ninjas (they always find me). Austin wasted no time and jumped straight into action I watched him grab one in each hand, and on with his foot (the grip of his toes is rather impressive) he then spun like a beyblade launching all 3 out the window 1 by 1. It was an amazing feat of human strength and reflexes. He then walked up to me in slow motion, hair blowing in the wind and said In the most commanding and beautiful voice “stand behind me” right as the words left his lips a wild pack of wolves burst through the front door! He just stared at them with his cold stoney gaze and they all whimpered and ran. He did all this while pouring 4 beers and mixing the best damn old fashioned my mouth has ever had the pleasure of tasting. Overall pretty cool guy.

This was my first experience at the waddling dog and let me tell you, this place exceeded all my expectations. The food was excellent, the atmosphere was wonderful, and our bartender Austin gave us the most amazing service with a smile everytime! This sweet little pub has officially been added to rotation.

Food was good. Service was good. A lot of tvs so it doesn't matter where you sit, you can see the game that's playing. Not a place for quiet conversation. :)

I have never seen a smaller order of the calamari in my life but the flavour was wicket. More please….. way too small

Servers were so friendly and attentive.
Love the ambiance of the hotel and pub. We stayed at the hotel 2 nights.
The lower rating is the food in the pub. Prime rib on Monday evening was very overcooked. It had been cooked to medium and serving size was quite thin, making it like over done.
The potatoes were delicious, best part of the meal.

Awful. Dirty. Service was super slow and almost most non-existent. Ordered a poutine and it was so cold the cheese didn’t even melt. Server never came back. Forget ozempic, just one visit here will suppress your appetite.
