Auntie Pesto's

First time in Salt Springs. Restaurant was recommended to us. Food was good but poor service spoiled our experience. Had to keep asking for water and why our meal took so long to arrive, while others were being served. When settling the bill, our server, Zoey, took the cash and walked away without an acknowledgment. Unfortunate end to what should have been a better evening.

Steak is so yum

We went for dinner around 5pm on a Sunday and didn't have a reservation like dummies. They were very nice though and let us sit at the bar to order dinner. They were very busy but kept up with the rush and were quick with our drinks and taking our order. The seasonal greens were excellent, delicately dressed and very fresh. The lamb meatballs were excellent and paired nicely with the curry/sour cream sauce. A table opened up on the patio after we had our apps and they were kind enough to offer it to us to have our entrees. The Chicken Parm was brilliant, and my wife had a beautiful Scallop Carbonara that was also delicious. The only reason the atmosphere took a hit is because it's pretty close quarters outside and the people at the table next to us were noisy and just shitty in general. Oh well, that's anywhere you go any more, especially in a tourist town😜 Wonderful staff, food made with care and originality, definitely recommend!

You have to visit this place if you are in Salt Spring Island. Try the lamb rack, it was worth the price. Service was great and they have very nice seating.

Ordered pasta for take away. Disappointed by the lack of flavor in all 3 dishes. Tasted more like store bought pasta. Side orders not received. Key lime pie crust way to thick with little filling that was also fluffy and undercooked. Will not return, better options on the island for far less cost.

We had the most wonderful evening at this restaurant — everything from the food to the service to the setting was exceptional. Reservations recommended!! Our servers, Jana and Elliotte, were incredible — so friendly, welcoming, and genuinely helpful. They made us feel completely welcome and taken care of throughout the night. We started with a few shared dishes — the Beef Carpaccio, Saganaki Cheese, Foie Gras and Pickled Beets — each one perfectly prepared and bursting with flavor. The Seared Scallop Entrée was a standout as well: fresh, beautifully cooked, and elegantly plated. We paired everything with a crisp glass of Oyster Bay Sauvignon Blanc, which complemented the dishes perfectly. We sat outside on the lovely deck overlooking the marina and the ocean — such a peaceful and beautiful setting. Great food, and amazing service made for a truly memorable night. Life is good—100% recommend — can’t wait to come back.

The food was exceptional, the atmosphere was delightful, and the service was top-notch. We had a reservation on the patio, where I enjoyed the incredible flat puff pastry leek and mushroom Tartine—absolutely out of this world.
The three of us shared a bottle of wine, savoring every moment of our last night on the island.
Auntie Pesto’s truly made the evening unforgettable in the best way.

🙌🏼Hands down one of the best, if not the best restaurant in BC. The flavours are so unique and everything was cooked to perfection.

🌟 Star dishes: Ravioli and Rack of Lamb

✨Never had had a ravioli taste so unique and delicious anywhere.
✨Rack of lamb was cooked to medium rare as requested, every single bite was consistently delicious.
✨Alberta Beef Tenderloin was also consistently tender with every bite, no stringy tendons. Paired with a red, and it’s Devine.

Definitely coming back to Salt Spring again just for Auntie Pesto’s!!

Had an excellent meal last night. Definitely a hidden gem in Ganges. Great food and service and will definitely return. Nice outdoor patio over looking one of the many marinas in Ganges. Good wine list with a variety of BC and Italian wines. Somewhat off the beaten path so you do have to look for it, yet I would strongly encourage that you do.
