5 of us for dinner on a summer Saturday night. We’re seated right away. Server was fantastic and a very nice guy. Food was served fast, hot and very tasty. Will definitely return.

Absolutely awful since new owners took over

This place has been up and down over the years. Currently very down, but way overpriced. With a jerk of an owner. RUN

Went on Sunday just after opening. My husband ordered 1E and l ordered 1G. We we looking forward to some good chinese food as visiters to the Island. Since it was rated at 4 stars we assumed it would be good. Sadly it was not, the fried rice was dry the sweet & sour pork was ok but my chicken balls had only a slight drizzle of sweet & sour sauce. We FELT LIKE WE GOT YESTERDAYS LEFTOVERS I would give a 2 star only because the nice girl opened and held the door for me as l am a senior.

Ordered chicken and mushrooms and got a plate full of mushrooms, asked to get it returned as there was very little chicken. The chickens texture was also similar to pork fat. There was no discount or refund at all for returning the in eaten dish. Kitchen staff were all yelling at each other the entire visit.

Good food but not always open when it says online

Vegetarian options: I am having the pan fried prawns & vegetable chow mein . Great beer recommended Tsingtao beer is light & refreshing!.

OMG - we just had one of the tastiest dinners ever on this wonderful rock we live on. Hot & Sour soup, Wor Won Ton, BBQ Pork Chow Mein (thin noodles), BBQ Pork Foo Young, Tofu with Vegetables, and Lemon Chicken. We were tired and just didn’t want to cook so this awesome family restaurant delivered us the freshest, hottest and most impressive dinner delivery ever!!! Thank you Golden Island for full bellies and content smiles all round. You outdid yourselves tonight.

Man, whoever answers the phone is a real knob. The guy had me on my back foot immediately. I didn't manage to make an order; I just said thanks, but no thanks. I was trying to give this place another chance because I've had friends insist it's ok, although last time I ate there the food resembled Chinese food in appearance only, it was inedible. Save your money and time!

I haven’t had Chinese food this good since the 70’s especially from delivery. I run a resort on Saltspring, so I hear from all the guests what’s good and what’s NOT. Delivery is the WORST option ever, pay double for yesterdays food. DISGUSTING 🤮 100% of the time especially on Islands, you don’t have to be good you just have to be there. I ordered Jipway chow mein, chicken balls and deep fried shrimp. The chicken was FRESH moist and tender, the prawns/shrimp were the same cooked perfectly NOT oozing too much OLD oil, the vegetables, meat (for the most part) and the sauce in the chow mein were great not mushy and tasteless. The portion size were AWESOME, it arrived HOT and still crispy! Pretty much a miracle. I don’t give out positive reviews as a rule, if I’m going to spend time it’s to warn people. If I had any criticism it would be the sweet n sour sauce, not great, mostly sweet no sour basically an easy fix. I was told I should have ordered the crispy noodles with the chow mein definitely will next time!

Ordered delivery and it arrived at our doorstep within 20 minutes. We were very impressed at how quickly we got our meal. It was delicious and we will be ordering again soon!

Bad experience he told us that if we wanted to have food allergies catered for that we should leave the waiter was so rude
