Historic vibes and lovely view. Vegetarian food was WILDLY overpriced. That part of the menu is stale and in need of an overhaul. Felt like the condescending waiter could barely pretend to care. Overall not a positive experience, and we would not return.

The Manor was an exquisite experience, from the initial approach walking down the wooden stairs from the parking lot, alongside the trees and beautiful harbour view, past the quaint door of The Snug, into the warm environs of our comfortable table accompanied by a friendly hostess who sat us.
The meal was absolutely delicious—definite nuances of Swiss in the tasting (especially with my mushroom soup du jour and also the more subtle green peppercorn jus). My wife’s Caesar’s salad did not disappoint—nor did her wild mushroom and spinach cannelloni with pesto cream sauce. And my grilled beef tender medallion with Swiss Gruyère potatoes was cooked perfectly and off the charts.
Our server Jonah was appropriate and excellent, and the whole experience at large was a wonderful way to spend my wife’s birthday (especially topped off with that Swiss carrot cake and coffee), extra special flavours for her because she had lived in Switzerland for two years some time ago.
We will be back for sure. Thank you.

A long time fan of HH dining. Many years of dining at a very special place with solid service. The last 2 meals in the past year were notably disappointing. Obvious change in chef at some point which has made dining not only not worth the price of a high end meal but I would not pay the price of a mediocre restaurant. How do you overcook scallops and Schnitzel. After have the steak for years the sauce is not near the calibre of previous years. No disrespect to the great serving staff but the chef is vital for a good experience.
Ssp disparately needs a decent restaurant. Food trucks or bust.

What a treat! We were staying on a boat and decided to spoil ourselves with dinner at The Manor Dining Room at Hastings House—and it was absolutely worth it. The setting is stunning, the service was impeccable, and the food was exceptional.
Our server, Derek, was engaging, knowledgeable, and made the whole evening even more enjoyable. We tried three different mains—scallops, canneloni, and pork schnitzel—and each one was beautifully presented and full of flavour. You could taste the care and quality in every bite.
The ambiance, the view, the attention to detail… it was all top-notch. A truly memorable evening and a highlight of our Salt Spring Island visit. Highly recommend!

On a 4-night holiday to Saltspring, we dined here twice because it's that great. Thanks especially to our server Kate, who is a consummate professional and made us feel like family at the same time. The food is phenomenal and the chocolate pate dessert is too good to share (so we ordered two). Thanks so much -- Jon and

I ordered the Shepherd’s Pie. It was covered in cheese as opposed to mashed potatoes. There was no mention of this on the menu. I do not like cheese on my Shepard’s Pie. I like potatoes. If they wanted to put cheese on my Shepard’s Pie they should have called it Shepard’s Ravioli. I mentioned my cheeses concern to our server whose only concern was that I did not know what the name of the cheeses was. He enlightened me. I was very grateful for his service. Aside from cheeses-gate, I was very pleased with the ambience and the grounds of the Manor were very beautiful. I would go back in a heartbeat.

Don’t miss this gem if you’re in Salt Spring- food was incredible and the service was top notch. No kids menu but it’s not necessary - our kids (ages 12 and 6) loved it all- which is rare. The smoked trout and cauliflower soup were outstanding. All of our main dishes were delicious and perfectly prepared. Loved it and hope to be back soon.
Vegetarian options: There were several vegetarian options and the artichoke ravioli got rave reviews.
Kid-friendliness: There is no kids menu but our 6 year old loved trying all of our food, including the cauliflower soup, beef tenderloin, potato gratin, and smoked trout.

Thomas was a welcoming and attentive server that made us feel right at home. The food was incredible from Malpeque oysters, to duck confit to Grab Marnier creme brulee. The view was beautiful and we are returning tonight because it was too good!
Parking: The parking is a bit narrow and windy on a hill, be careful!
Outstanding, exceptional, excellent, delicious, creative. We enjoyed a spectacular anniversary dinner here on the Canada Day weekend. The setting in the Manor dinning room overlooking the harbour was magical. We had a wonderful bottle of BC wine from Burrowing Owl which paired perfectly with the chef's creations. This meal was a fine dining experience that offered the perfect ending to our Salt Spring vacation. I would literally come back to the island just to have dinner here again.
Our family of 9 enjoyed one of the best dining experience in years. All appetizers, entrees and desserts were delicious and beautifully presented. Portions were generous as well. Friendly and knowledgeable service. Ambiance was lovely, elegant yet rustic. A little pricey but well worth it. Highly recommend.

We only came for dinner. The ambiance was peaceful and welcoming. Views of the harbour and beautiful grounds surrounding were outstanding. Our waitress was friendly and very helpful, especially as I have several severe food allergies that I have to go over when ordering my meal. I selected the Halibut entree, and couldn't have been more pleased with my meal. The chef was top notch, my food was exquisite! You will definitely not be disappointed if you decide to go here for your next night out.
