Lovely Cafe, very busy, mediocre coffee.

I got a very over extracted latte here and let the barista know. She adjusted the machine and made me another latte which was still over extracted and bitter but much much better.

Its unfortunate that flagship coffee shops so often do their coffee a disservice. I use saltspring beans at home all the time and on my consumer grade breville I can pull significantly better shots.

Ordered wild salmon bagel. Apparently it’s only half a bagel.
Breakfast wrap was ok but very pricey.

Cappuccino with foamy milk. Acid espresso shot with overheated machine.
Stick with drip coffee

Pretty place and i imagine a nice spot to hangout with or catch up with friends, but the service felt rushed and the milk in my Americano misto was clearly burnt (both temp and taste indicated as much) and the coffee flavour was very bland/flat

I think I need to stop ordering flat whites in Canada, because clearly Canadians and Europeans have different ideas of what they are. I went to Salt Spring Island Coffee, all excited for a good one – it’s Salt Spring Island, after all – but what I got was basically a latte. When I pointed it out, the barista casually said, ‘Oh, we make it like a latte.’ Well, that’s not how flat whites are supposed to work. The decor? Sure, it’s a nice, modern West Coast vibe – they clearly spent a lot of money on the space. But when it came to customer service, they couldn’t spare a single extra shot to make the drink right. Instead, they said I could pay for it, making my $6 coffee a $9 one. Most places would either add the shot for free or remake it if it’s off. Not impressed.

This place is always super busy, and for good reason! The food is great, the coffee is great, and the staff are super friendly and helpful!

Lattes were not lattes (need training)
Wait was long (need vibrating disks when foods ready)
Tipped for nothing as had to get up for drinks and again for food
Generally not impressed
Staff were friendly however and food was as expected

Nice place, but expensive for lattes ($7.15 before tax at the time of writing for a 16oz) and the coffee is ok but not great.

Very good spot for a coffee in Ganges. Lots of tables with a variety of seating configurations (tables, high tables, community seating, etc). Cappuccino was really good, and staff are friendly. Lots of locals here…you really get a sense of the diverse mix of people that make up Saltspring Island here. Interesting people-watching spot, thriving cafe. 2 thumbs up 👍

About the plastic teabags that are usedd

Steeping a single plastic tea bag at brewing temperature (95 °C) released approximately 11.6 billion microplastics and 3.1 billion nanoplastics.

The “levels of nylon and polyethylene terephthalate particles released from the tea bag packaging are several orders of magnitude higher than plastic loads previously reported in other foods.”

Great spot for awesome coffee. Big space and has an outdoor patio. The coffee is done well, even with latte art. Cool vibe. Gets a bit busy tho.
