Pros: The portions are generous, and the prices are cheap compared to mainland standards Cons: The service was awful! This is a small restaurant, so it was strange to be ignored for so long. No waters, utensils, never took the menu away. Waitress didn't know the menu. No apology either. The party beside us got up and left without ordering mains because no one was coming around to take their order. I was tempted to do the same, but decided against it.
Overall, it was a decent meal and I left full. Cocktails were mid, albeit creative for the area. I'd recommend this place if you're not in a rush

Cool little place with excellent service. There's a dedicated vegan section at the end of the menu with a wide array of options. Everything we tried was great, but the vegan spanakopita was amazing. Big plate, delicious, very filling, and reasonably priced for the amount of food provided. The coconut margarita was awesome and had edible glitter in it! It was a little loud inside, but it was a hockey night.

Reasonably priced mocktails, cozy and intimate atmosphere, excellent service. Many gluten free options including a separate fryer (so fries are a safe option!). They can do burgers with a gluten free or lettuce bun, and have the menu clearly labeled. Wait staff were also knowledgeable about the menu so could make recommendations.

Came here for the karaage and pickles!
My husband loves chicken karaage and has ordered from most local places where we live. We came to Shift while on vacation, and he said this is hands down the best karaage he has ever had. Even joked about ordering another portion to go as it would still be great the next day. If you like chicken karaage, do yourself a favour and order this dish.
The deep fried pickles were great too. Large portion with perfect batter encasing the pickles, great flavour.
The California BLT burger was very good. Great portion and flavour, but the guacamole seemed non existant. Fries were very fresh with a nice salt coating.

This is one of my favourite places to go, it’s casual, cute and the food and drinks are great. Service is also lovely. The peanut butter burger is amazing and the hand cut fries show they care - add a sure if there amazing gravy. I love everything I try but I keep getting the burger bc it’s spectacular.i wish it had a bit more room and more space but it’s small and cute!!

I waited an hour for a watermelon salad while others that came in after me had full dinners and got their bills. The waitress said oh well we had a take out order that came in now. I never saw this take out persons come to pick up said food. Terrible terrible service. Will never go back.

Greeted with a smile and sat as soon as we walked through the door, moved to a booth when we enquired about it, great specials (corn on the cob and margaritas!), the pace of the meal was great, and the food came out hot and fresh!! The servers were incredibly friendly, and accommodating with our dietary preferences. We ordered two appies, one double margarita, and three main meals, the total (after a 20% tip) was under $100!!! Definitely a refreshing and welcome experience after we sat down at a table at the almost completely empty lighthouse pub (seat yourself restaurant), and got ignored for over 15 minutes. Hats off and chefs kiss to Shift!!
