This is a family friendly restaurant, and the food is well priced for its portions and freshness. This place has a different kind of menu from what I am used to, and it was well worth trying. We had a warm welcoming and friendly service from all the staff, and they also hold great conversation. They are also gluten free and peanut free restaurant. Their tartar sauce is unique and delicious, I would encourage everyone to try it more than the fish itself. For someone who doesn't like thick batter I find their thin batter perfect.

Good size fish, good service Fries were a bit overdone, overall it was ok. This was my original review. However here I am a few years later and I thought I’d give them another try. The batter is not very good and fries still over done. Sad because they use to be so good.

Fish on Fifth is an absolute gem! From the moment you walk in, the ambiance is inviting and cozy. The seafood is incredibly fresh, and the menu offers a fantastic variety of dishes. I highly recommend the deep fried halibut burger,it was cooked to perfection and bursting with flavor. The staff was attentive and friendly, making the dining experience even more enjoyable. My family was visiting Victoria from out of town. We were brought here as a recommendation from our local friend. Now I can't wait to go back. Everything was great about it. Everyone including the kids ate their whole meal. Cod and chips and fried pickles! We took it to go and walked to the ocean to enjoy.

The fish thai wrap was well done and tasted very good. But We ordered takeout they had wrapped fish and chips in a paper kind of wrap. Fries were soggy by the time we reached back to hotel in 30 mins. Apart from that no complains

I dined here recently and unfortunately felt dismissed by my server. While other guests were attended to promptly, I was left waiting and overlooked. The difference in treatment made me uncomfortable, and I left feeling unwelcome. I hope the restaurant takes steps to ensure that all guests are treated with equal attention and respect.
We ordered take out. They were timely I will give them that. Food was very disappointing to say the least. We ordered cod meals. Fries were terrible and overcooked. Cod was not good at all. It tastes exactly like the frozen fish and chips you buy at the grocery store. Mysteriously all three pieces were exactly the same size and shape. Coleslaw was bland. Even the tartar had waaay too much dill. I guess the positive was they included enough condiments for 8 people. We won't be back anytime soon.

Online there’s a whole vegan menu when you do online ordering. I didn’t ask specifically for a vegan menu when I went. But the main options were on the main menu. Maybe I needed to have asked?
We ordered vegan not cod and vegan filet of phish and they were amazing. It wasn’t too fishy which I prefer. But it was still realistic enough for me. The fish were tofu based as well. They’re also peanut free!!! If anyone is allergic to peanuts.
