It was cold in the restaurant...granted we were there on 27 Dec. But seemed like there was no heat on, everyone ate with their coats and tougue on. GF batter and fryer, great for my granddaughter who is Celiac.

They are local have been in operation 28 years or more with the same owner. I came here as a kid and it's still just as good! The staff are really kind and the fish is excellent. I stopped here instead of getting food at the ferry terminal, it's vastly superior.

I have been coming here for years, but I was shocked when I just walked through the door and there was still 45 minutes left before they close, and they wouldn’t let me sit down to eat a meal by myself. Even though they were still technically open and so was the kitchen. I was not going to take long at all to eat either. It was a birthday meal to myself. They clearly just wanted to close early so they could go home, but that is not how you treat your loyal customers when you’re a small town local business. I heard there is another fish and chips place in Sidney, so I guess I’ll be going there from now on.

This is a family friendly restaurant, and the food is well priced for its portions and freshness. This place has a different kind of menu from what I am used to, and it was well worth trying. We had a warm welcoming and friendly service from all the staff, and they also hold great conversation. They are also gluten free and peanut free restaurant. Thank you for making our visit to British Columbia a warm one! :)

Their tartar sauce is unique and delicious, I would encourage everyone to try it more than the fish itself. For someone who doesn't like thick batter I find their thin batter perfect.

Good size fish, good service Fries were a bit overdone, overall it was ok. This was my original review. However here I am a few years later and I thought I’d give them another try. The batter is not very good and fries still over done. Sad because they use to be so good.

Fish on Fifth is an absolute gem! From the moment you walk in, the ambiance is inviting and cozy. The seafood is incredibly fresh, and the menu offers a fantastic variety of dishes. I highly recommend the deep fried halibut burger,it was cooked to perfection and bursting with flavor. The staff was attentive and friendly, making the dining experience even more enjoyable. Whether you're a local or just passing through, Fish on Fifth is a must-visit for seafood lovers!

My family was visiting Victoria from out of town. We were brought here as a recommendation from our local friend. Now I can't wait to go back. Everything was great about it. Everyone including the kids ate their whole meal. Cod and chips and fried pickles! We took it to go and walked to the ocean to enjoy.

The fish thai wrap was well done and tasted very good. But We ordered takeout they had wrapped fish and chips in a paper kind of wrap. Fries were soggy by the time we reached back to hotel in 30 mins. Apart from that no complains

The difference in treatment made me uncomfortable, and I left feeling unwelcome. I hope the restaurant takes steps to ensure that all guests are treated with equal attention and respect.
