The whole family was on Vancouver Island, BC, and was heading back to Swartz Bay for a ferry trip to Vancouver, but we decided to stop for lunch at a nearby restaurant to also celebrate a family member’s birthday. We randomly chose Maples Maple Chinese Restaurant, and we were not disappointed, the food was delicious and budget-friendly.

In addition, Moon, the attendant, provided excellent service, from helping us choose our food to serving it and handling the checkout. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Just a small tip: if you can, try to book in advance, as it can get busy at times.

Great place for western Chinese food. Hospitable, friendly service, large portion sizes, delicious food and reasonable prices. Great view to the airport! They could've used another server, as they were busy and we had to go searching for napkins, then chopsticks, plus our tea never came. And, it was cold in there (a November evening). But, those are relatively minor things. We really enjoyed our visit, the food and decor. Nice restaurant that we hope does well!

Appreciated receiving a large take-out order recently! The portions were very large - really enjoyed the sweet and sour pork (very tasty sauce), the beef and broccoli, and chicken chop suey - all delicious! The almond chicken was not our favourite as had more batter and oil in the dish than we expected. Also had an order of chicken fried rice - celiac safe and seafood allergy safe - was delicious - too much for 1 person - so great to have leftovers! Was greatly relieved that they understood the allergy issues so well! Got 2 orders of the medium sized white rice for 7 people - didn't even open the second container! So heads up the portions are very large and we had leftovers - which for us wasn't a bad thing! Overall a great meal - popular place for take out - so order ahead! Or eat in for views of the airport and watching planes take off and land! Easy parking In front. Maybe call ahead to ensure elevator working if mobility issues? Otherwise a flight of stairs up to the restaurant.

The service, hospitality, and portion/ quality of the food at Maple Palace is phenomenal! They have such a good variety of options on their menu. Best Chinese food in town by far!

The food and service are both amazing. I absolutely love general tao but I'm picky with it, and theirs was absolutely delicious😍 my fiance also enjoyed all of his food. The kind lady serving us was also so amazing with our baby, she made him smile a lot! Highly recommend :)

Beware, they haven't updated their Google Business profile, it says open but they are CLOSED WEDNESDAY !!!!!

We noticed the prices on our bill were higher than the prices listed on their menu by approximately $2/dish. When questioned, the waitress gave us the most rediculous anwer that the menus/prices were printed in China and are not updated. Whatever price in their computer system are the prices they charge. This is unheard of and unethical. I would stay away from this business.
