The best atmosphere setting in Sidney's restaurants. Excellent service. I had the chicken picatta which was excellent. They have live music ? so check out their website to see who's playing and which nights. This is becoming my 'go to restaurant when I want to dine locally.

Highly recommend Riva if you are passing through Sidney.Food quality was terrific, and the overall atmosphere was very pleasant. However, highlight of the night was our server Sophie, who was outstanding!!! She was extremely personable, efficient and engaging. Her customer service skills were top notch and made our over all dining experience amazing.Wil definitely be retuning next time through Sidney.Hats off to owners Bill and Donna for creating such an outstanding place to dine.

I've always loved coming to this location. However, the fish and chips, which ought to be a Westcoast staple done properly, was quite abysmal. The fish piece was overcooked and extremely greasy, and the fish was mush with no flavor. Unfortunately, my husband and I were under a time constraint, so we chose not to complain. I will assume that had we, they would have offered another menu item.

Had a great experience here. Location, food and service from Sophie was just perfect. Best of all a quiet room so conversation was no problem. Great jazz piano.

So delicious!!! We got take-out, clam chowder with focaccia and the Riva burger with fries. We ate it at home about 10 minutes later, so not piping hot, and still the best fries I’ve had in a while. The burger was amazing too, bacon jam yum. And my partner licked the bowl of his clam chowder!10/10.

The service was impeccable. The seafood linguini was great. The tiramisu was a great finish for the meal. They accommodated me by a oceanview table. Lovely atmosphere.

The place is beautiful, but you cannot call this restaurant Italian when the chef is not Italian and doesn’t know how to cook pasta. As Italian person, when I go to enjoy dinner in this beautiful restaurant I respect to feel Italian atmosphere or at least to have an Italian chef. I ordered fettuccine alla marina. I got tagliatelle tomatoes sauce. I asked to the waitress if my order was correct she said yes. Then I explained to her that those are tagliatelle and not linguine , and in Italian marinara it’s served with sea food in the sauce . But I got just basic tomato sauce tagliatelle. For 37$. No Thank you!!

A friend and I were there to celebrate a birthday and were blown away by the quality of food, service, and atmosphere. Our table gave us an incredible view of wind-whipped waves at night, while the dimmed lights and electric fireplace creating a lovely relaxing environment. The addition of some light piano jazz was the perfect touch. The food was divine. Our seafood pasta dishes were perfectly seasoned, and the made-in-house fresh bread was perfect for mopping up the sauce. The wine menu was the only weak point, with just a small selection available. The service was wonderful. All staff we encountered were courteous and professional ; we felt very welcomed and appreciated that the servers knew the menu well enough to answer all our questions about our meal. The highlight was the surprise birthday candle on my friend's dessert. Such a small gesture that meant so much.Thank you very much for a wonderful evening.
