I almost don’t want to leave a review for fear that so many people will discover this hidden gem and they won’t have a table open for me next time😂 My family and I came here after a rainy cold day hiking and it was absolutely PERFECT. This pub feels like you are stepping back 30years, which is exactly how long it has been since my parents had visited this pub before they moved away. Coming back, even after 30 years, they said it felt and tastes the exact same. We had the seafood chowder and let’s just say I will be back again very soon! I sincerely hope this place stays popular for a very long time so I am able to comeback with my family in 30 years so they can experience it☺️

Great food, great service, but I was made to feel uncomfortable by the other patrons in the restaurant. It was my first time dining here with a friend of mine and the meal was delicious. The service was excellent because the staff were kind and courteous.
However there were a number of people who were extremely rude and assumptive which made the environment in the restaurant toxic and uncomfortable.
I will return but perhaps only to get takeout one evening. People can be very cruel which is unfortunate and I will not tolerate it again.

An unexpected find due to my wife's research and good reviews. Great atmosphere and very professional and friendly staff. My wife only wanted a cup of soup not the big bread bowl and that was more than enough for her. I was impressed by the Meat to Bun ratio of the Stagecoach burger as well as the obviously made on site patty. Great drinks and relaxing atmosphere.

Cool old pub with over a 130 yrs of history, food is just average. Frozen patty type, not homemade burgers, bagged run of the mill frozen fries. Too bad not homemade and fresh cut. This would make this place extra special.

Randy's lamb lasagne (the special today) was absolutely delicious!!
One of the quintessential pubs of Victoria / Sooke. Has character like few other places around. Good beer selection. Fun staff. Some interesting takes on pub fare - the chowder is really good.
