I love trying to support local businesses, but this was just disappointing. All of our avocado in our rolls was so over ripe that it was barely green and they seem to struggle to get food out on time, even when it doesn't seem very busy. We're going to make the drive into Langford next time we want sushi.

I’ve dined in and ordered takeout from Hara Sushi many times, and it continues to be one of the most dependable spots in town. Every visit feels familiar in the best way — fresh food, generous portions, and a team that always treats you with kindness.
The sushi is consistently well‑made, with clean flavours and great presentation whether you’re eating in or taking it home. Rolls are balanced, sashimi is fresh, and the cooked dishes are just as satisfying. It’s the kind of place where you can order your favourites again and again and know they’ll come out right.
Service is always friendly and attentive. Even during busy hours, the staff handle everything with calm efficiency, and takeout orders are prepared on time and packed neatly. Dining in has the added bonus of a warm, relaxed atmosphere that makes the meal feel even better.
After many visits, Hara Sushi has earned its place as a go‑to spot for both quick takeout and comfortable sit‑down meals. Consistently good food, great people, and a welcoming environment every time.

I actually can’t rate the food as I didn’t make it in…the reviews don’t look excellent I would have expected better customer service when I called. I called to make a takeout order and was quoted 60min, I told the woman I would call back in a sec if we decided on the wait, which she replied “your time will go up with more orders coming in.” 3 minutes later I called to confirm we wanted to go ahead and she told me 1.5 hours and orders came in…..IN 3 MINUTES? She was rude. We decided on Teriyaki house and it was an excellent alternative option!

Subpar if you compare this restaurant with other Japanese restaurants in the Lower Mainland area. We understood that we had to wait for longer when the restaurant was busy, but we werent even served any tea or water until we asked the waiting staff for them. We did not get any refills throughout our dinner time either. Every one has different standards, but it costed me $20 for a bowl of unagi don with a lot of rice, three pieces of unagi, and two blocks of cucumber.
Again, everyone has different level of acceptance but I didnt have a good experience there for sure.

Been going here for years. Food and service has always been good. Went in today after a beach day. My wife had a dry bathing suit on with a cover over top and was asked if she had anything to change in to. Was extremely embarrassing and not warranted. She was fully covered. They also seemed overwhelmed with 5 of us coming in to a basically empty restaurant. Didn’t make us feel comfortable at all and we will not be going back.

The front desk Susan is very nice and friendly. We love how patient and joyful she is. Miso soup and spicy tofu soup were pretty good. The donburi was not served with sushi rice, but it’s fine with me.

Worst sushi I’ve ever had. Salmon was definitely not salmon or even fish. Rice was not seasoned and stale. Tuna was fake. Out of the 6 rolls we tried, we ate a piece from each and decided to throw the rest out.
