End of season and we had the dining room to ourselves. Gigantic windows with a view on a splendid post rain cloud/sun drama. Service was top drawer and the food, was something to write home about.

I had a satisfying experience at this tranquil waterfront restaurant. The service was excellent, and the refreshing cider flights set a nice tone. I really enjoyed the peanut noodle bowl, which was bursting with flavor, and the chowder was rich, albeit with a stronger fish taste than expected. However, the Chicago pork sammie was a letdown, featuring a strong meat smell and lacking depth of flavor. The forage bowl didn’t excite me much either. That said, the fries were fantastic, and the chowder and peanut noodles were highlights. I’d love to revisit in the summer for another go.

Absolutely wonderful. We had a super informal “rehearsal” dinner here and they were lovely at helping us coordinate tables and everyone had an incredible meal. The Shwarma and the Ruby Rose cider were my choices and they were delicious. The staff was so wonderful with how many people there were and people moving tables. They don’t take reservations but we came at 5:30 on a Friday in October and were able to get in no problem and we ended up having a total of 15 people there. Cannot recommend enough. We will have to come back in the summer and eat on the patio with their gorgeous views.

Dietary restrictions: My mom can’t eat gluten and the menu has a ton of options and is clearly labeled and the staff were knowledgeable and super helpful.

Great service and food. Can't beat the view !

The Stickleback Restaurant is a wonderful place to congregate with friends and family. It is locally owned, and the menu is well researched to feature the best of local food, including seafood.(of course ☺️)
We had the local fish and chips, but the salads are luscious as well. The burgers are extremely popular and look beguiling.
If you fancy a dessert, they have that too. Made that day.
Seek it out and you won’t be disappointed. Prices are entirely reasonable.

I wasn't for lunch there only to be told very rudely that my kind was not accepted into his restaurant and then I had to leave. No manners whatsoever and overall very rude individual I do not recommend this place to anybody. 0 star rating.

Been twice whilst staying with family in Sooke.
As past owners of a hospitality business, we
notice things. This is without doubt one of the best restaurants worldwide. Service and attention are outstanding, and the Cod and Fries are exceptional.
Would recommend even to British Fish and Chip offianardos, if you're ever in the area.

Kind of mixed feelings for Stickleback...Wonderful staff, lots of parking with outdoor seating off the water on a lovely day. Food was okay...lemon saltnpepper wings were lemony and enjoyable. Mint ice tea was refreshing...my husband said the chowder was okay. My main dish was greens, mango, chicken and rice. Filling but maybe I was picky...I felt a bit let down. Now I did see the burgers and they looked yummy. Just wish I had ordered one. I would say try the burger, as the staff were really kind... So try it for the burger ?
