We come here once a year for a special occasion and it never, EVER fails to delight. We love how everything is made in house from super, super local ingredients and tonight was no exception.
Besides exceptional drinks, also got: - Cowichan beer tartare: The smoked olives were devine and the ozette potato chips were the perfect pairing - Roasted wild lingcod: The wild coho roe's burst of oceanic salinity with the sorrel emulsion was something else, and the lingcod was so moist yet with a crispy exterior that was sublime - Housemade pappardelle: Before coming here, almost made a reservation at Il Covo Trattoria downtown as we were craving some Italian food, but goodness — this was perfect (braised beef and BBQ pork rib ragu). The giant mound of Saltspring herbed chevre was incredible.
Of course, the cozy ambiance and super friendly server were icing on the proverbial cake (too full for dessert unfortunately but the dessert menu looked so impressive)

Flavourful, balanced and well-portioned plates. Wonderful cocktails and an extensive wine list. Great use of local and seasonal ingredients in everything. Attentive, knowledgeable and welcoming staff. All surrounded by picturesque views of the Sooke waterways. An absolute gem.

Ate here over thanks giving. The food was incredible particularly the octopus.
I came away with major FOMO for not ordering the ling cod.
The service was great aswell. My partner forgot her hat and they even mailed it back to her! Nice people.

Stumbled upon this place and so happy we did. Everything was top tier. We had octopus, pizza, and dessert. We didn’t realize we ordered a white sauce pizza (which we don’t usually like) but even their white sauce pizza was incredible!! We’ll definitely be back.
EDIT - I forgot my favourite (and very sentimental) ball cap at this restaurant. The ballcap is irreplaceable and from my first marathon in Big Sur, Ca. I left a voicemail and sent an email offering to e-transfer if they mailed it back to me. I just received it in the mail. I audibly “Aww’d” when I realized the package I received. I am so grateful! I will definitely come back to Wild Mountain. The service was amazing and went beyond the meal!

I love this place. Everything they do, they do amazingly well. Fresh and local ingredients are combined to give great complexity and depth of flavour. Their wood fired pizza is amazing. We had the mushroom and it had such an amazing and intense mushroom taste. I've never really appreciated thin crust pizza because what I love about pizza is the crunchy bottom crust but Wild Mountain makes that happen. This place is a rare gem on this part of the island.

Friends treated me to dinner here, a while ago now. I still reminisce how some of the seemingly simple dishes had such complex and balanced flavor profiles.
Amazing farm to table food. Staff is increadibly knowledgeable and passionate about the food and where it's all come from. The flavors are both surprising and increadible. Highly recommend coming for a meal!
