We loved our dinner at Wild Mountain, we snuck in early and were seated at a beautiful table with a view you can’t beat. Our meal was delicious start to finish, and the service was attentive but not intrusive. Wild Mountain has a wonderful team running this restaurant. The pizza was so good we ordered another one to go. Plenty of non alcoholic beverages to choose from, they were all unique and tasty. I enjoyed making my way through the list. Can’t wait for our next visit.

Wild Mountain is one of the most special restaurants I’ve ever visited. From the idyllic setting looking out over the water next to the ingredients they grow in their table-side garden, to the thoughtful and expertly crafted wood fired dishes, it’s a top tier experience. Their willingness to support local farmers (right down to the grain for their pizza dough) is absolutely admirable. Their staff are always friendly, personable, and generous without being overbearing. The cocktail list is as seasonal as the rest of their menu so expect a treat to match the weather. Their focus is primarily on sustainably farmed wines from BC, made without adjuncts - it’s the perfect foil for their delicate but vivid style of cooking. I can’t wait to go back.

We have always had an amazing experience at wild mountain but unfortunately this visit left us very disappointed. Service and cocktails were amazing as usual but my $60 been tenderloin was completely cremated. You cannot charge minimum $60 for a steak unless you really know what your doing and in this case wild mountain was way off. Although the kitchen achieved a semi med rare the exterior was massively burnt. Wood fired oven or not - pull the meat away from the fire. We voiced our concern to the server and all we got was an ok- apparently no manager onsite to follow up. I feel that their recent high praise make of gone to their heads as it tends to with all up and coming restaurants. They need to do better - especially with their local trade.

Love WM! Went in January for a birthday dinner. Always have to start with the Crispy Polenta- I love these! The soup is always different and delicious. We had the Mutton special, they don’t often have this but when they do I have to have it- local from Metchosin. The Honey Chomeur cake in the winter and Pavlova in the summer are both wonderful. Great food, great staff and great atmosphere!!Vegetarian options: My Sister-in-law is Vegan and WM surprises her with a delicious Vegan meal every time we go!

As a vegan, I want to let you know how much I appreciate that they make me a delicious meal every time I eat at this restaurant! Even though there aren’t any vegan options on the menu, all I have to say is that “I’m vegan and I’ll have whatever the chef will make me!” and the fantastic staff will talk to the chef and let me know whats available. The view is beautiful as well. It’s a win win win for this vegan!

My most recent visit to WM was really wonderful. I appreciate their approach to seasonal cooking, and you can tell everything is done with a lot of care. All the staff are very nice, and you feel at home there. Every meal I've had has honestly been a knockout.I don't have any pictures of my latest meal, so I'm uploading pictures from over summer. The beef tartar was out of control and the pavlova dessert with my first ever espresso martini was probably perfect?I've also ordered take out in the past and recommend getting their incredible homemade cured meats for your next charcuterie board. Love eating here 100% recommend you do.

I am very sad to say that I found this meal to be memorably disappointing. With all the talk of fresh ingredients and farm to table meals, there was almost nothing for vegetarians. I had the teeny tiny polenta and a rather boring endive salad that had the bacon removed. We normally order a bottle of wine but just didn’t feel festive enough to bother, same for dessert. We are big restaurant fans and were looking forward to a special feast for a special occasion. Treating vegetarians like an unwanted afterthought is lame.

If you are craving an escape from the winter, I highly recommend Wild Mountain. Their menu is carefully crafted, based on what’s in season, and their staff are very attentive and fun. I wish I lived in Sooke so I could go more!

Absolutely the best meal we’ve ever had. Fresh ingredients, exceptional staff, wonderful quaint atmosphere. Worth the drive any day of the week. These people care about quality and it’s obvious the second you walk in their door. Farm to table dining at its finest. Very much worth the 5 raccoon review we gave it! Blog post coming, stay tuned.

This place is a must for us anytime we are in BC! First off, the atmosphere and staff are so pleasant, nothing beats the view (or the cocktails! shout out to Emily who made ours). The food is incredible, and this is coming from a Los Angeleno. I especially appreciate the chef's care and consciousness towards cooking seasonally. Last time we visited, we actually went back twice. The first time we dined in and tried a variety of menu items, and the second time we did take out; absolutely loved the pizza from the wood fire oven! I cannot recommend this place enough, it is a true gem.

Wild Mountain is my go to restaurant every time! Such special food and drinks, a lovely atmosphere that feels so thoughtfully curated and welcoming - as a Sooke local I’m so proud and grateful to have WM in our little town ❤️

I love Wild Mountain. If you're looking for a fantastic food experience, this is the spot. A spot that truly embodies local food systems - right down to how they support and encourage their staff to be creative and adventurous. Great for a moody winter dining (bless the island for having such abundance) and even better for bringing out of town guests for summer patio dining. The cocktails are outstanding, kudos to the bar!!
