I recently visited this A&W location with a coupon that clearly stated a breakfast sandwich, potatoes, and a regular coffee for a set price. However, when I went to pay, I noticed the total was higher than expected. After checking the receipt, I saw that they had added an extra $0.40 for the “regular” coffee.
When I asked about it, the cashier told me that at their location, the coupon only includes a small coffee, and if I wanted a regular size, I had to pay extra. This was never mentioned before charging me, and the coupon itself specifically says “regular coffee.”It may not be a large amount of money, and of course customers often leave tips voluntarily, but being charged automatically without any explanation feels disrespectful and unpleasant. The principle matters: customers should not be charged extra without being told, especially when the coupon clearly includes the item.
I would advise other customers to carefully check their receipts at this location to avoid unexpected charges.

Try the chicken burger & fries! When you are seeing a show mid week and need to eat after work, this is my 'go to'. The Commodore is the BEST place in town for seeing live shows! Still amazing.👏 The service team is top notch! 👌 I have never had a bad time there after 37 years of seeing killer shows and entertainment at the Commodore! We even had our Grade 12 graduation there! Much love ❤️
