Living up in embassy rich Ottawa during the early 80s I had my choice of places to eat and new foods to try. My introduction to sushi came during this time - back when this was sitting at the sushi bar, talking with the chef, trying new combinations and stopping well past the point of full. On a business trip to Vancouver I had the urge late one evening and asked a likely local for a close sushi bar would be found - this before every street corner had two sushi shops like today....

We love Aka Sushi and this is our only place we come to for Japanese food.
The quality of the food is excellent, the service is great and the staff are so friendly. The prices are a bit high but we don’t mind paying when we get consistent, excellent food.

Unfortunately, I did not feel the same way about the beef yakiudon. There was so much sauce in this dish, that I instantly ran home and drank 50 gallons of water. To this day, I am still drinking water to offset the damaged onto my body.
