The food is great no doubt about it ! The problem is the service.. there is no rule that says I have to tip… and tips depend on the type of service that is provided. If you don’t bother to even fill up my water once or ask our table if we need anything and came twice (once during initial order taking and second time when deliverin food) you haven’t done much and I don’t care if I ate $1000 worth of food, I DONT HAVE TO TIP YOU AND YOU DONT HAVE THE RIGHT TO RIDICULE ME FOR IT. Came here on an afternoon with my friend and when we paid the bill we did tip but the waitress was unhappy with the amount so she started arguing with us telling us “standard is 10% minimum” .. there is no minimum, and your service is terrible so instead of telling us to tip you maybe improve your standards or find another job ! Absolutely pathetic

Ato is the absolute best Sushi I’ve had to date in the lower mainland BC. My favourite item here is the Salmon Oshi - the best I’ve ever had! Arguably (and controversially) I find it better than Minami’s Salmon Oshi! Truly fantastic spot.

The Sushi was great. There was only one server, which is understandable for the wait before we could order. However, we were repeatedly asked if we were finished and would like the bill, and had our empty dishes taken away during multiple times that made it feel like we were politely being asked to leave, when we weren’t quite finished and we’re still socializing. Other than that, the overall experience was pretty good.

This restaurant’s Spider Roll is the most baffling one I’ve ever had! Other places use crab legs, but this place actually uses crab gills! Owner, do you eat crab gills at home yourselves???😡

They are located inside the crab shell and appear as a row of grayish-white or pale yellow feathery structures, functioning as the crab’s respiratory organs. Since they filter water, they can accumulate bacteria, mud, and harmful substances, which may pose health risks if consumed, especially if the crab comes from a polluted environment.
When preparing crab, it is best to remove the gills and only eat the edible parts like the meat and roe to ensure safety and better taste.”

4.5/5. Sashimi lunch bento box review: @ $22.50 it’s competitively priced. Average sized sashimi, the “usual” variety (tuna, wild and farmed salmon) hokkigai and a cooked shrimp for “9 pieces”. Potato Korokke was decent and not typical of a bento box. Crispy tempura that didn’t feel overly greasy, therefore above average. Modern decor. They also take Amex, which is a bonus for all those cobalt card users.

Ato serves fancy upscale sushi, which is presented as 'edible art', all at a reasonable price. I would recommend you try every item on the menu. I don't even like fish, but I can't get enough of their sushi!!
