We always choose Bourbon St Grill when eating in the food court at Guildford Mall. The food is excellent in many ways. It's great for flavour, choice and freshness. And it's one of the only restaurants that actually provides good portions. I'm so tired of feeling ripped off when buying meals in restaurants. I understand that inflation has put the crunch on food services, but they still shouldn't rip us off like that. At this place, we always have 2-3 meals out of each 4 menu item entree. I see many bad reviews for this place but all I can say is every time we've chosen them it's always been fantastic. And I'm known to be very fussy and opinionated about dining out experiences.

The worst food you could have. The broccoli was over cooked. The Louisiana chicken had tiny pieces of chicken the rest was just batter. The noodles was not not noodles, it was spaghetti. Half was spaghetti,3/8 was broccoli and 1/8 was chicken. Never again!

Disgusting food. I asked the manager to give me every penny for this food they said it’s already been eating so we can’t give you the money back. I didn’t even eat the whole thing as it made my stomach turn as I was eating it. You will be hearing from my bank if that’s the way you’re going to be! Won’t be coming back ever again you don’t deserve to be in business! Over priced food too! WOW!

I’m getting very tired of food court operations like this. It may be convenient, but I need to take a stand for my hard earned money. And it is harder to earn these days.
Maybe if more Canadians started taking a stand, we would see a change for the better. As it’s not just this particular food court restaurant.
But this Bourbon Street Grill just reminded me of this ongoing and growing problem. Zero care for those who choose them over other options. The apparent owner was helping the line as I came up and I asked him if he recommended the Louisiana or the Mango Chicken. He says the Louisiana but “it’s spicy”. I ask “how spicy” and he says he “doesn’t know”. Now every other Bourbon St Grill I have been to encourages samples to try and lure in customers. So I ask if I can try to see how spicy it is. He says “no” with zero care. I was quite surprised and asked why and he says “no” again. I was polite about it, and said I would go elsewhere then. Not even a sorry or any measure of care from him. It would seem they just expect customers to come to them and spend their money regardless of the food or service.
Maybe he should have just said Mango is best. Or maybe he didn’t want me to taste it before paying for it. Maybe I would have realized it was kinda slop and both flavours tasted the same anyways.
The other place in the food court I ended up going to wasn’t much better sadly. Kung Pao Wok, I’m looking at your slop here as I type.
As consumers, we need to expect fair value and appreciation from a business for being a customer. I’m not asking for a lot. Just a smile, a thank you and a general nice experience overall (and decent food; not slop). Is it too much to ask?
Now I know what the bleeding hearts would say. Oh but they are treated so poorly by customers. You know, this has become nothing but an overused excuse. I haven’t seen someone be mean to a customer service person for a long time now. Most people know that if they do, they will end up on social media and be shamed forever. Maybe that’s what some of the people on the opposite side of the counter need to experience. Nah, I wouldn’t waste my time. I will just go elsewhere.
I guess what they say is right these days. Better to save money and make your meals at home. It will taste better, you won’t be treated rudely and you will have more money in your pocket.

What is it with the extreme strict rules, lacking to customize an order for a customer, with specific needs. I’m on the low FODMAP diet, reintroduction only shows me how incredibly sensitive I am to ALL FODMAP, I have to very carefully plan what I eat and drink throughout the day. Eating out is the absolute most difficult! Bourbon street grill has been ideal because of the vegetables with minimal seasoning and chicken being the only item that has fodmaps but I split my portion into two meals, making it little enough to not upset my stomach. Unfortunately their noodles and rice I cannot eat. Another location accommodated this for me by adding more carrots instead of rice (not an entire other item, just more of one that I have )
But at this location she just kept saying oh you can’t eat any of this because it has gluten! No I’m not celiac. I am just sensitive meaning I will get sick and very sore stomach if I eat these things too much of it , a little bit is fine. The other items are fine I know my body. I know me so what is it with these uptight rules. They can’t simply add a little bit of vegetable replacement of rice costing no difference? If anything less!!Rather count pennies then serve a customer or show them any decent minimal bit of respect.

Worst customer service I’ve ever seen , they don’t listen to you order and don’t ask you if you are staying or if it’s take out then afterwards proceed to charge you for a bag .portions are getting smaller and price is getting higher .

The customer service at this restaurant is incredibly poor. I ordered three combo meals and asked the manager, Vicky, to separate the fish because I’m sharing the meals with my son who has a fish allergy. I was willing to pay for separate containers, but she refused and insisted I order two combos instead. It seemed like they were trying to scam me by charging me more for another combo just because we have allergies. I was shocked to encounter such an extremely rude owner. Customer service isn’t her priority; it’s clearly making money. I will never be returning to this location.
Also, meet those two hungry, rude customers of hers.

I mean it’s good food because it’s bourbon, but it’s the staff and service that is terrible. The Manager was especially horrible 🙏🏽. Clearly the manager can’t handle simple customer service and run her own bourbon restaurant or any at that. Very rude and dismissive while being very unreasonable and unprofessional and for what? Also applying rules that don't apply to any other bourbon for some reason. Never seen service this crappy sorry.

Spicy chicken is not spicy enough. Portion size is really good. Taste of rice is good.

I bought two items and a drink and coke at the food court. When I returned to my seat, she had forgotten to put my drink in my bag. I asked her about it, and she said I hadn’t paid for it. I showed her my receipt on my phone, and she immediately changed it and said she had put it in my bag. However, when I checked my bag, it was empty. She asked her coworker to check the security camera, and when she realized she hadn’t put it in my bag, she gave me my Coke without apologizing. Like coke is not big deal to complain but customer service zero.

This branch is much better than the one in Twassen Mills. It feels healthier, and the food feels less drenched in grease compared to the ones I have been to in America.
