I was expecting bland sandwiches, which is typical of English food, but my wife and I were very surprised by how tasty everything is. We didn't eat breakfast so we had a big appetite, yet we were too full to finish the nice range of savory & sweet treats. The tea were good too. At first I thought it might have been a bit expensive, but in the end we felt it was worth it.

Went to Duchess tea a few hours ago, the staff were very friendly and so helpful. We emailed that our preference was vegetarian but they brought out chicken sandwiches ( not a big deal as they explained what was in each dish when they set it down) I reminded them of my preference and they were apologetic and brought me out vegetarian options right away. The food was really good and for pricing this is definitely on the cheaper side for high tea but so filling and so delicious. I will be back and highly recommend!

We came for the Harry Potter themed afternoon tea. I appreciated the thoughtful decorations (including artificial fog and a moving broom) and enough savory food at the bottom layer. Everything tasted good, and service was friendly and warm! It exceeded my expectations; definitely worth the long drive here to experience it with my little ones.

From the moment we stepped into the store we were in awe of the small little touches that were put in place for the magical Harry Potter high tea. Props to Sunny and her team for making this amazing vision to come true and make it soo fun and enjoyable; and encouragement to dress up! Loved all items on the trays and the teas that were served. Small menu for selections of teas and butter beer was optional such a great idea. Will definitely come back for more themed high teas!

I've been to Duchess twice now. Once for their normal High Tea Set and just recently for their Harry Potter themed offering. I'm a casual High Tea customer (I go when my girlfriend says we're going =p) but I'm no stranger to restaurants. I'd have to say Duchess feels like a great choice for the price point.
The savoury and sweet offerings on the tiered High Tea tower have been delicious and delightful both times. Great range/selection of teas, usually 5 or 6, plus one or two you can up-charge into (the first time was an amazingly tasty fruit tea), and they had a tasty little Butter Beer concoction for the Harry Potter event.
Décor has been lovely and fresh both times, the space is large enough to feel active but not so full of people as to feel noisy -- the experience felt chic but casual friendly, sort of welcome to all sorts. Would totally recommend.

We love high tea. Duchess Tea Salon ranks at the top of our list just on quality of ingredients, presentation and ambiance alone. You can taste that everything is made from scratch and is made on the same day. You can feel the passion and hard work the owners put on everything they offer. We love their chai, it’s so authentic. You can taste the freshly grated ginger, cardamom, cloves, cinnamon and vanilla bean. The one single factor that keep us coming back is the price. You will definitely get $40 worth of goods than what they are charging you.

Dutchess tea, O how I love thee! Fantastic afternoon tea for three. I couldn’t get over how yummy everything was. Each savory and sweet treat was unique and delicious. Couldn’t pick a favorite because it was all good. Had to take the leftovers home. I have already booked my next reservation and can’t wait to take my loved ones there. We booked this place to celebrate a friend's birthday. We got to chat to the owners of how this high tea salon came to be. What an amazing story. All their hard work and determination really show through. The decor, the presentation and the taste of the food really showed the love and care they have put into this place.
Puff pastry items were still warm when they came out and were not overly buttery or greasy. Everything just tasted so fresh and perfectly seasoned. You can tell everything was made day of.
The sweet tier on top was also well done. I liked that they used real vanilla bean instead of just extract in their panna cotta. We really enjoyed the Biscoff cheesecake as well. Light and creamy and the perfect amount of sweetness.
The pricing is very fair and I felt like the portion sizes were generous. Quality ingredients as well.
I wish these ladies great success! We will definitely be back again one day.

If you go about researching high teas in and around the Lower Mainland, you'll find that the majority of them are significantly more expensive than this place, and have menus that don't cater to everyone's tastes. When my wife and I went here we were marveled at how fresh everything tasted and loved the variety of savory and sweet treats that were on the high tea. Everything was very clearly and carefully handmade and tasted fantastic. At the end my wife and I literally had a discussion about which of the treats were the top five best and we more or less agreed that they were all the best. The scones are complete magic and one of the best highlights. The decor is bright, pretty, and romantic, and the cups and plate selection were all pretty and helped complete the experience. The two staff were friendly with us throughout, and they even responded to my reservation late the night before.
Apparently in October they are planning some Harry Potter themed teas, which considering my wife is a giant Harry Potter fan means we will be back. They're the kind of small, local business you want to succeed because they're excellent at what they do and are reasonably priced compared to alternatives in the area.

Reopened and I’m so glad! Never got a chance to go before Covid and so close to our house. We had a lovely service with excellent teas and delectable treats. The cheesecake was SO creamy!

Parking: It can be a little weird to find your first time. And lots of the parking spots are reserved. Leave a little early just to figure it out.
