Famoso Italian Pizzeria - Guildford

How did anyone give more than 2 stars to this place?! The large caprese salad literally had 4 pieces of cheese, about the same for tomato, and then it's just a box full of lettuce.

The margherita pizza is just sad. The crust is super tough and chewy, and I mean, look how sad that basil is. Decent sauce at least. I'd put it on par with a frozen pizza from the grocery store.

The salted caramel ice cream is solid. Might be too sweet for some. The cheesecake was very dry and heavy. I kind of think it had freezer burn. It's hard to make a cheesecake that isn't delicious, but they pulled it off.

Is Surrey deprived of decent restaurants or something? I struggle to see how this place has 4.1 stars.

My kids love their pizza. We’ve been there 2 times and the server already remembered us! They’re very friendly and they knew that my kids love watching the chef making pizza, so they allow them to sit in front of the pizza maker. I love how they treat these little ones as an individual that they bring their food right to their front instead of us, the parents. I love the atmosphere there, and will definitely going back again with the kids.

Been here a couple of times and every time we’ve been taken care so nicely.
Specially had a wonderful service last night by Nate - who despite being the only server around closing was helping 3 different tables including us like a pro. Food quality and taste are 10/10 and service is 11/10!!

This place is a gem.

The meat lovers Sicilian pizza comes with the meat only on the menu not actually on the pizza. Servers ladies touch hair face then plates the pizza maker wears gloves .the waitress said because he is vegetarian he doesn’t like to touch meat so had to ask for myself . What he says? No its for hygiene reasons. Waitress made that story up. Pizza missing some neat

1 star for 1 simple reason. Forced 18% tip, not told to use until time of paying.

Tips are rewards for good service. Forcing people to pay them, especially with no mention after the meal has been served, is extortion.

After receiving our bill and telling her we were paying on card, she then says "because you are a group of 6 there's an automatic gratuity (unannounced service fee) of 18% that's not on that receipt, I will add it now." Then hands us the machine to pay... ???

The service was ok at best, we were seated for at least 20 minutes before our order was taken, this was the first time we were asked about drinks also.

The food was good, but not worth the risk of spinning the wheel of "what do we want to charge you for today" I won't be back any time soon.

Tipping culture is out of hand, and this business does it underhandedly.

I ordered pizza for the first time through Uber and it was petty good. Cannot compare it to authentic Italian pizzas in Vancouver/Burnaby/Coquitlam, but I would say it's the best Italian pizza I've had in Surrey. My only critique is the crust—it was a bit chewy when cold, and I would have preferred it to be thinner.

Last order on Doordash and our Shrimp Pesto arrived with no shrimp.
Tonight we went in to celebrate a double birthday. Service was poor. Inattentive and we had to work to get the servers attention. They forgot to make one of the meals. I sat there waiting while everyone else ate. When everyone else always almost finished eating I got up and found a server and found out they didn't start making my meal. I cancelled my order. Famoso did nothing about it. Then had a difficult time getting the bill so my party left and I had to stay behind until I could pay.

This was a fav restaurant but lately it is not being well managed.

Recommend avoiding.

We started off with a bruschetta app, the bread was delicious and the tomatoes worked extremely well with the balsamic. Even as someone who doesn’t like tomatoes I enjoyed the bruschetta. Then we had abruzzo pizza and a Quattro fromaggio pizza. The crust is better than any other pizza we’ve had. The red sauce was amazing. The abruzzo had such a nice level of spice where it still stings your tongue but you’re not sweating, it’s an enjoyable amount of spice. We finished off with two lovely soft gelatos. The servers and the cooks were all extremely nice. If you want pizza for dinner GO HERE!

Eat here instead of Milestones!

Famoso is fantastic and the pizza is delicious. Service is great and so are the drinks. If you are ever tossing up what restaurant to eat at in the Guildford location, just eat here.

Called ahead to make sure they had gluten free crust. You can't tell it's gf compared to wheat. Tastes the same! Unfortunately one olive in my pizza still had a pit. Unexpected crunch. Otherwise the food was tasty. The salad had these really nice greens. It wasn't busy today or any of my previous visits. There is a patio on the side of you want to sit outside. I hope they hang in there.

Famosa has really great thin crust Italian style pizza. They have a great pizza and soup or salad lunch combo for a lighter option.
The staff at Guildford Famosa were friendly and efficient. Food came out quick and was very good.
