Was recommended to me so we ordered for Christmas Eve. I ordered the day before to make sure they had time. I had to wait 35! min!!! Family from out of town waiting at home… EVERYONE who came in (like 15 orders!) was told their orders would be 30 min late. They could have called to say its late…. Not good!!!
This is a takeout only Chinese style restaurant, so atmosphere rating does not apply. As an observation and fact, the portion sizes has been reduced on a couple of simple dishes that we ordered (Chow Mien and Fried Rice) by more than TWENTY percent and the costs have gone up a couple of dollars a dish since January 2024. The food was mediocre.
The black container was from January 2024, the white one, from yesterday.

Just had take out to bring to Crescent beach at Fongs Eatery. My husband and I really enjoyed their Won Ton Soup. Reminded me of my childhood. The wontons were freshly made and very tasty. The vegetable chow mein however tasted good but had very few vegetables basically next to none…just a bit of carrot, which was a bit ironic. The black bean prawn noodle dish was mediocre and it was served with shrimp not prawns. It would have been nicer if it had more sauce too. We would definitely go back for the Won ton and leave the rest for someone else. A tad bit expensive for what we got.
The prices have really gone up but what’s worse is that the portions have really been reduced. The size of the dishes are all way smaller than a year ago!
Definite “shrinkflation” going on at this place.
I won’t be back!

Their food is excellent, their delivery abysmal. I say that because twice they've delivered incomplete orders to our home for special occasion dinners. Once so many dishes were missing we needed to reheat all of the food when the other dishes arrived 45 minutes later. The other time some people whose dinner dishes hadn't arrived insisted the other eat, meaning dinner was eaten in two shifts. Not exactly ideal. Some restaurants take delivery problems seriously. The local White Spot got our delivery order wrong once, and the manager showed up at the door later with our correct order, a sincere apology and an $80 gift certificate. Fong's barely apologizes, like it's somehow the customer's fault. They don't seem to expedite the missing dishes either. My advice, eat in, don't risk delivery. And if you pick up your meal, check the bag's contents carefully.

Not sure why, but although we ordered online and paid extra for delivery and gratuity, they thought we were going to pick up the order so our food sat in bags at the restaurant. It would have never been delivered had I not called to inquire why it was taking so long. They offered to recook the meal since it would have been cold, but we didn’t want to wait another hour so we asked for it to be delivered. We only live 5 minutes away but it still took another 1/2 hour to arrive. No apology or compensation was offered.

Food was good as usual. But, $170 fed 4 adults and 2 little kids. No leftovers. That’s pretty steep. Unless quantity grows we will not go back.

We used to live in CB. Fong's took over from the previous place around 1995. That was some of the best "chinese" you could have anywhere and for the next 15 years we lived there. Apparently our friends that live in the area now no longer order here as the original Fong's owners have retired and the quality is substandard, to be kind.
Our food was absolutely wonderful. We had springs rolls, chow mein, spicy green beans, tofu and broccoli, and spicy eggplant. Everything was perfect. Fresh, hot and very very flavourful. We picked our food up so the atmosphere was irrelevant.

Perfect delivery of the most horrible food someone ever dared to prepare and serve for take out.we ordered House Chow Main and Honey Garlic Pork. The chow Main swam in undefinable brown water that continued to accumulate even after draining. The order had no flavor, none. The garlic pork was tough to be inedible and also swam in a watery concoction. No chop sticks, Soja sauce, napkins, fortune cookies etc accompanied the Order.Initially we had prepared to do 6 different orders, but then reconsidered leaving it at 2 due to the fact, we never used this restaurant before, even it’s located only 2 km from home. Never! Again.Unbelievable, the favorable on line reviews.

We ordered the fish satay, egg foo yong, house special chow mein and hot and sour soup. First, we didn’t get the fish but we got vegetable chop suey instead! The egg foo yong was gluey. The chow mein contained beef which was unchewable and vegetables soggy with 2 prawns. No crispy chow mein. The vegetable chop suey, which we didn’t order, was all mushy vegetables. The steamed rice was okay! The hot and sour soup would have been good if it wasn’t so spicy it made your eyes water. This is my second ever restaurant review. If we had been able to dine in we would have sent it all back. BTW this restaurant is takeout only.I hate to throw away food…and money!
Excellent flavors and good size portions!
