Fresgo Inn Restaurant

Its gone quite expensive and actually the food is not very good. Coffee keeps running out ( i think it is deliberate). It's become just a basic food place.

I live out of town now but I was a longtime customer of Fresgo (Walter) when I lived in Surrey and I even ate almost every week at the Davie St location in my younger days.
I was in town and decided to check out the restaurant since the new owners have taken over.
The restaurant was empty, I was the only customer and there were dirty tables all over, it was so disappointing to see. The floors and washrooms looked like they haven't been cleaned in days!
My burger was overcooked and dry, plus it took forever as it looked like there was no staff working either.
After being a loyal Fresgo customer for 40+ years, I will not be returning as it just isn't the same without Walter there :(

I’ve been coming here for many many years. I’ve come two times since The restaurant was sold and I have noticed that quality definitely has gone down.

I went to eat here the other day, first time I at here since the new owners took over. The food quality as gone down hill. I grew up eating at fresgo and the food was always amazing, the ingredients always tasted fresh, and full of flavor.

When I went there on Tuesday I ordered the burger special and my mom ordered the Italian poutine. Birth of these we have ordered many times, in fact the burger special was always my go to order. But when I got my meal the burgers were half the size of the buns for starters,( much smaller than they used to be) the coleslaw looked terrible and looked like it used expired ingredients as it was a brownish color. I tried a bite and it tasted worse than it looked. As for the burger it tasted off, as well as the bacon. The burger almost tasted like it was frozen then thawed and then refrozen. I have had better burgers from fast food joints. The bacon tasted like it was cooked and then put in the fridge.

After my mom ate her Italian poutine she started to feel a bit uneasy and had to use the restroom multiple times before we left.

We also got some rice crispy squares as they used to be the best ones around, but they were so dry and crumbly it was impossible to eat the whole thing. I had to toss about 3/4 of it I'm the garbage.

On a side note I went around 3 pm and the place was so empty, I have never seen it that empty before.

This will probably be the last time I eat here, which is a shame considering how good it used to be.

Good ol’ time cafe restaurant. Like stepping back to 1984. Food is pretty spot on.

Used to come here alot when I was a kid with my family when Walter owned it and was great. Now that its under new management its not the same and has gone down hill. Prices have increased and even breakfast not the same. No one will run it better then Walter did. He cant be replaced.

Mid food, steak i asked for medium rare and got it more well done than anything. Prices r too high, interior is very basic.

The portions are still good, but unfortunately the place and food quality is not what it used to be at one time

If I could give half a star I would.. I can not believe the burgers they are trying to sell completely trash.. place is dirty staff aren’t friendly would never ever come back..

⛔️⛔️⛔️‼️‼️‼️⚠️⚠️⚠️ I bought burger buns and took them out for tomorrow ’s dinner. when I opened it, they are Moldy. Before I took it, I wanted to choose the last bag, but staff lied to me. she said I should choose the first bag because it’s soft and new . The Staff just cheated customers. Everyone should be careful about buns even when eating at store

A family member and I went to this restaurant for dinner tonight, curious to see what it was like under the new ownership. We ordered the Mushroom burger with a veggie patty and the special burger. I was very disappointed with my mushroom burger. The patty was disgusting, and the lettuce and tomato tasted old and seemed past their expiration date. The only edible part of the burger was the mushrooms, which were good.

My family member got the special burger. He said the beef patty and bacon tasted off and was unable to finish it. He also took one taste of the coleslaw and immediately pushed it aside. The only very good thing on our plates was the fries. The side of gravy was bland and almost tasteless.

I would not recommend these burgers to anyone. The mushroom burger was the worst I have ever had. Overall, the new owner either needs to change things or I will not be returning.
