We have been ordering from Hanaya for years and even for our special occasions like our son’s first birthday, as we loved their sushi and attention to my husband’s gluten sensitivity, but we had a horrible experience today, when we ordered our regular “real crab rolls”, and both realized that they put an imitation crab with the real crab (I assume to save the cost or thinking that customers would not notice). Well, we definitely noticed: the colour and the taste gave it away and 10 minutes later my celiac husband started his suffering journey from excruciating stomach pain. It is very sad and disappointing, but most importantly dangerous. We need to give heads up to people with the same health condition, so they are careful ordering from this restaurant. All the best, we will not be ordering again.

I love the food here but moved to Vancouver island. I mistakenly placed a pickup order here and when I called to cancel they did so quickly and politely. Can’t recommend this place enough, wish I still lived close enough to eat here :(

Great sushi. Place is very clean. Staff are very friendly. I love all the cherry blossoms on the ceiling. They also do a great chicken teriyaki and yakisoba

I lived in Vancouver for five years, tried all different sushi and this is the best. Just ordered the standard two combos, veggie and standard and they were so freaking good, holy moly that's good sushi. Honestly like if you like just a solid veggie combo, hands down this is the one.

Order here often.. now I’m worried. Manager hasn’t called back. Last month had beetles n ladybugs in salad, do they not wash? And yesterday had a pork gyoza with hard buys in it, skip refunded and then the sushi made my throw up twice. Be careful I don’t care about the money just don’t get ppl sick you df.
The comment below is interesting, I have no reason for lying. Do you have something to say about the pork gyoza with hard bits in it that don’t get chewed? And that salad is from you. As was the sushi I threw up from. Don’t get ppl sick!

Love this place! One of my favorite sushi places. Fresh & yummy scallop cones. Just all round reasonably priced rolls & cones are nicely stuffed lol Highly recommend!
No more happy hour prices and a considerably large price increase. Been going here for over 20 years. Wont be returning cant justify the huge increase in prices.

Recently accidentally ordered from Hanaya since all other sushi places in my neighborhood was closed. Absolutely love all the rolls and portion is really nice too. Added this restaurant to our family’s takeout list :)
