Delicious chicken burger with coleslaw - the chicken was tender and juicy. Lovely waterfront views and top-notch service too!

Would definitely come back✨

This is the best little secret right on Crescent Beach! 🏖️ it’s the best food and the perfect view! The staff are all so lovely. It’s a must stop when you go to the beach. ❤️

Make sure you ask how much they
charge for oysters before ordering them! $ 30 for 6 oysters is outrageous!

Best fries in BC. Can’t go wrong with anything on the menu

Solid fish & chips. Such friendly & attentive service. We often bring guests from out of country to experience fish & chips on the beach. We brought a party of 6 this time. Always consistent.

I normally don’t leave negative reviews, but my experience at Hooked Fish Bar in White Rock was deeply upsetting and handled with such a lack of empathy and accountability that I feel the need to share it.

I had recently undergone dental surgery and was wearing a temporary denture, which I carefully placed on my plate during dinner with two of my girlfriends. I stepped outside for a few minutes while one of them remained at the table. When I returned, the server had already cleared the plate—and with it, my denture, which was clearly visible and not covered with any napkin, contrary to what the server claimed. This was an expensive and essential medical device, and just like that, it was gone.

What followed was humiliating. My two friends (one a dentist and the other a lawyer) and I were forced to dig through two garbage bins—both inside and outside the restaurant—searching through plates of food and sauce-covered waste, in front of staff and guests. One kind server did assist us, and I appreciated her effort, but the overall reaction from the team was appalling.

Even after such a distressing incident, we were still asked to pay the full bill, which felt completely heartless given the circumstances. I later emailed the owner (who was apparently on vacation) and followed up multiple times without any response. I also called the restaurant, only to be spoken to rudely by staff who told me there was nothing they could do and, in essence, to leave them alone.

Yes, I understand that I should have brought my denture case, and I take responsibility for that part. But the way the situation was handled—especially the cold, dismissive attitude, the lack of compassion, and the complete absence of accountability from management—was beyond disappointing.

I would never return to this restaurant again. Situations like this require human decency, and unfortunately, I didn’t experience that here.

Best fish and chips hands down, and amazing waterfront seating.

Located right on crescent beach. Great patio with partial glass wall to block the shore winds

Great place and even better fish and chips

I have been going to Hooked for years, however my latest experience was not the same. Perhaps it’s under new management? I ordered the usual two piece fish and chips and immediately saw the effects of shrinkflation combined with inflation. Smaller pieces and increased prices. A second piece of fish is $11 more than a single piece order… really? I should have checked the menu. What also increased (substantially)was the grease content. If not for the long lines at PAH Emergency I would have had my stomach pumped, suffered pain all night. No more of this place for me! This is one fish bar that is best taken out to sea by a big wave!

Casual seafood restaurant. Great food with unobstructed beach views. How can you go wrong?

restaurant, take out - bought $80+ food and paid 10% tips, no body asked if I need a bag for food, when I asked told me it’s was $.25, that’s okay. But I asked if they have a paper box which lots of stores now offer, gave me a mean look and said you have to pay for that and we don’t have. Food has always mediocal. We go coz it’s the closest one to the beach. Fries all soft feels old. Shouldn’t treat customers this way.

I recently ordered $80+ worth of takeout from this fish and chips restaurant and left a 10% tip, but the experience was disappointing enough to warrant a one-star review. No one offered me a bag for my food, and when I asked, I was told it would cost $0.25—I don’t mind pay for it. However, out of environmental friendly reason, I asked if they had carbon box option, which many restaurants now provide as a standard option, the staff gave me a mean look and curtly said they don’t have them and I’d have to pay for any alternative. The food itself was, as usual, mediocre at best. The fries were soft and tasted like they’d been sitting out too long, and the fish was nothing special. We only go here because it’s the closest spot to the beach, but the consistently poor customer service and subpar food quality make it hard to justify. Treating customers with such disregard is unacceptable, especially for a pricey order. I won’t be returning anytime soon.

Had the two pieces of cod. Real cod. Great batter, best tartar sauce and coleslaw. Parking is a little tight. Cost is consistent with the quality. We will be back.

I had a bad experience at this place. The beer glass was dirty with lip marks. The waitress took a long time to serve us. We ordered two of the same dishes, but only one came quickly. We were told there was a problem in the kitchen with the second dish, and it would take a few minutes. After more than ten minutes, the second dish finally arrived, but the first one was already cold. Overall, the service was slow and the cleanliness was not good.
