The place looks nice but the customer service was very bad, we were 6 adults and 2 kids and were told to wait 20-25 min which was fine. And we asked where we could wait, the waiter said to just seat on the small chair by the entrance, even though the restaurant had all the tables by the bar open and all the tables on the mazanine. Then after waiting 20 minutes, with 4 tables open in the main area (people had left) we assumed maybe the cheff is too busy so thats why we weren't seated yet, but then a couple gets in, and they get seated right away!. The waiter is not even looking our way, so I asked her what happened since they just got in and were already seated, and she said she couldn't put the tables together, but that we could seated separately I told her of course, you didn't talk to us at all. Sorry for the long message we're very hungry and just wasted so much time. The waiter (only one in the restaurant) doesn't have great customer service yet. So we left to go somewhere were they wanted our business

Always the best food and the servers are so so sweet. We love Hugo’s!! Great cocktails and the happy hour is pretty good as well! Highly recommend if your looking for great food with a classic Mexican cantina vibe 😍 and we like the tortilla lamp shades 😂

We had been to Hugo’s a few years back and did not have a great experience. Given we like to support local, we wanted to give this place another shot, although wish we hadn’t. It took over 70 minutes to receive our main course, our server processed two of our drink orders incorrectly and my “premium” steak tacos were tragically underwhelming - photo attached for reference. I’d be embarrassed to serve that to a customer. Only positive was that the new location was an improvement from their last spot, although please clean your washrooms more regularly, they were filthy.
The best Mexican experience in the lower mainland. Food was delicious. Many gluten free options.

Called to confirm the closing time in hopes of ordering a takeout, they turned off the uber at 8:10pm when the last call was supposed to be 8:30pm (even the app stated 8:30pm). If the operation hours are incorrect, please change the time, do not mislead customers, thanks :)

Just tried this place for the first time and I was very impressed! We got the tostadas and guac from happy hour then had birria tacos and enchiladas. Everything was fresh and delicious. I loved the dark coloured salsa, added so much flavour and not too spicy. Enchiladas verdes were amazing! And the service was very attentive and fast. We will definitely be back!
