We ordered buffet for our party of 40 people. There is no food when returning for refills. Empty trays were not refilled inspite of the price. The value did not cost the price of $40 per person. No! It was not refilled at all! I was there! I even asked the lady serbidora, the trays are empty s isang pilahan p lang! And sabi nya no more. See the definition of buffet below. Not even an hour fr the start fo dining, trays are already empty. And this owner keeps on justifying their shortcoming!

As a chef myself, I’m very particular about flavor, texture, and overall food quality. But this place truly made me happy to the max! The food? Absolutely delicious. We ordered the crispy pata, and it was perfectly done super crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. Their sisig? So flavorful, chewy, and tasty. Even the bulalo was excellent the meat was tender, juicy, and full of flavor. And let’s talk about the star of the show: their halo-halo! They did not skimp on ingredients. Everything in it was generous and well-balanced, and the custard was incredibly creamy and rich probably one of the best halo-halo I’ve ever had. Now for the customer service 5 stars! The lady working that night was amazing and so kind. She even offered us free rice, which was such a thoughtful touch. We arrived around 7 PM, and when she overheard my daughter say she was hungry, she immediately went to the kitchen to check on our food and served it as quickly as possible. That kind of attentiveness really stood out to me. I’m truly impressed both by the quality of the food and the warmth of the service. Can’t wait to come back. Highly recommend Kain Ulam if you’re looking for authentic, satisfying, and heartwarming Filipino food!

The food is really tasty here and the host is really friendly and accommodating. She provided suggestions when we couldn’t decide on what to order. The atmosphere is nice and doesn’t feel cramped. The seats are cozy and they have a karaoke machine there. I had my reservations when I saw the area as it is a biker area, but it’s a really friendly environment and relaxing in there. Truly a hidden gem. We had a combo platter with lumpia’s which are tasty, the noodles were really tasty and the garlic rice is soooooo good. The fried chicken was a bit of a let down as it is slightly overcooked. And the Bicol express is a coconut sauce pork dish with green beans and is so full of flavor.
