The cake was awful, it was just melted chocolate inside and they lied that it wasn't creamy inside, $30 of my money went to the trash, rude and condescending staff

I'm a Korean-American and moved here from California, where I often visited Chinese bakeries. While searching for a good bakery here, my wife noticed several Korean people on a Vancouver Korean website recommending Maxim in Surrey Bakery, so we decided to try it. The pastries are carefully made, and you can tell real effort goes into each item. Personally, I think it’s even better than the St. Germain Bakery. The staff are also polite and efficient.

Taste of their cakes is undoubtedly very tasty
But I will share the pictures what i ordered and what i got, they spoiled my family’s special day, it was my husband’s first birthday as a dad and they spoiled the whole moment.
They made the cake look like a kindergarten student drawing. Just check the alignment, the spacing and the design of the cake.

Really great Hong Kong style pastries
Great food, but they only accept cash, not even debit card... Makes it difficult to render change
We do not eat egg and their eggless fruit cake is amazing. So soft and less on sugar level. Perfect for any celebration
