Michael's Artisan Bakery & Cafe

Came in excited to try a pastry which was the curry turnover. I ordered and paid and saw some person behind me go to the pastries area and an employee went ahead and grabbed both the last pastries.

Afterwards the employee helping me said they ran out and I said I could wait for a fresh batch. Another employee came up to me and proceeded to ask me how many I'm willing to buy which I felt a bit disrespectful as I had just ordered one and wanted to try it out.

I asked if I could just get another quick bite instead of a refund as I had just paid. They said sure and I picked a brownie which was about 70 cents more. Instead of just handing out the brownie they rang me up for a 70 cents charge which I was surprised by as I didn't think they would charge me extra especially for the inconvenience.

Overall a good place, but as a first timer in Vancouver and at the cafe I didn't really feel welcomed or accommodated for.

Build a public restroom before calling it a cafe. Also tell the customers the food closes at 2:15. Not 3.

I’ve been going thru some major digestive/health issues and was on the hunt for gluten free bread that had appropriate ingredients such as no vinegar, etc. Felt defeated as most places have so many ingredients that just were not on my tolerance list… until Michaels, they have a gluten free bread with only 3 ingredients which has been amazing and a life saver while being so restrictive with diet, appreciate how they take care to ensure quality.

The food and drinks are very good. The staff is very friendly.

First time here but I’ve been wanting to come here for a while. This place is somewhat visible but if you blink you’ll miss it.

There is plenty of parking in the front for customers, I arrived there around 8:30, so wasn’t too busy. However in the short time being there lots of people were coming and going.

This is an artisan bakery with a cafe shop inside. I was overwhelmed at first by the amount of options I could choose from. This may be my new go to place moving forward.

The variety of dessert's, freshly baked breads & pastries, cakes and coffee options, certainly there should be something for everyone.

I was pleasantly greeted with a smile and given time to look around to figure out I wanted. I ended up ordering their brand muffin with raisins and a black Americano.

I used to own a coffee shop so I feel I have a higher standard for taste of espresso and this place delivered. Great taste, great notes and the muffin was fantastic.

Wonderful bakery with a new cafe run by the sweetest family. I highly recommend the latte with Okinawa black sugar! It's a mineral-rich sugar with just the right amount of sweetness. Excellent coffee.

I popped in to de-stress after a busy week. I had a chai tea and the raspberry, white chocolate scone. Great customer service, delicious tea, scrumptious scone, and warm atmosphere. It was lovely. Thank you!

Although it has been a while- my experience at Michael’s has been positive obviously great baking, yummy soups, friendly staff, good location and parking.

It was our first time here, and we are glad we stopped in. There were lots of fresh bread, among other Grubb. We had a Raspberry white chocolate scone, [to die for] Mocha coffee was perfect. We were welcomed by an older lady and Tyrone attended to our needs. Tyrone was helpful & polite. Thank You!

Amazing food!! I love their caneles and lemon squares. Definitely a must have when you're in town!
