Doon Spice & Curry Restaurant

We have ordered food from here several times. This place is by far the best Indian food we found in the South Surrey, White rock area. The owner of the place is also the chef and their passion shows up in the food they serve. The food is very authentic Indian and delicious. We have tried many items like tandoori chicken, Malai tikka, Palak paneer, etc. They make chapati as well that I didn't find anywhere else. Highly recommended.

We tried this restaurant on December 18, 2024 at the recommendation of the staff at the hair school located in the same shopping plaza.

Everything on the menu is a la carte, and ordering a curry does not include rice or naan bread. My wife and I ordered the aloo gobi, chicken korma, two servings of rice, and lamb curry (see photo starting from the upper left dish then going clockwise).

We found the two servings of rice just right; there was plenty of left over rice for just the sauce. The aloo gobi was excellent in terms of taste and had lots of cauliflower. The chicken and lamb had good flavour as well.

The service was fine. Our server was attentive and made sure to keep our water glasses filled.

The decor is nice. The restaurant has a bar against one wall, and many family style tables. The restaurant is clean and doesn't look old (e.g. chipped tables or broken floor tiles). We were also the only people there having a late lunch on a weekday afternoon, so I can't really evaluate on atmosphere.

Picked up for a party. Multiple dishes of veggie and chicken. Excellent. Good spice as had to tone it down for the older peope and kids. Personally love it hotter but the taste and spices were tasty for what we needed. The veggie Samosas are delicious. Big, light, crispy and the filling was fantastic. The curried chicken and the fish were perfectly down. The dips, sauces and sides were on par as well. Highly recommend and really nice staff. Will be ordering again for sure. We ordered through UberEats butter chicken, garlic naan and veg samosa. We loved it all! The naan bread was fresh and delish, the butter chicken was the perfect amount for 2 we have leftovers that we ate tonight. The samosas were some of the best we've had. The food was fresh and packaged nicely.

The food is marvellous and great everytime staff is so friendly and calm specially receptionist the special food is kadai paneer and lacha prontha .

Order arrived exactly on time and hot. Quantity was very good and taste was authentic and delicious. Highly recommend. Have had Doon food at various functions when hosts got the restaurant to cater. I am from out of town so have never actually been to the restaurant but have always loved the food.

Went to dine in the other day and had spring rolls and aloo tikki—both were amazing. The whole experience was something else, unlike anything I’ve had before. The service was top-notch, super respectful, and the atmosphere just made it even better.

Food is always great. I always wondered they didn’t ask for a tip when paying the bill, I saw it with my own eyes yesterday; the girl selected the tip and then shows you the machine to just to be able to tap… I’m not going back even if the food is good..

Vegetarian options: Aloo gobi actually has cauliflower and is not loaded with just potatoes

I'm not sure why people are demoting stars for silly things like having to pay for a side of rice (which most places do now). I LOVE this place. Food is so delish. We love the Tikka & curry chicken & the Hara Bhara Kababs. We tried the mango curry chicken too which was awesome.
