The service was top-notch, with friendly and attentive staff who made sure everything was perfect. Loved my experiences at Ruex! I recently held a private event here and the service was impeccable and the food was *chef's kiss. I can't say enough great things about the staff and my guests were raving about the food. Big thanks to Jasmine and the rest of the staff as they made the event seamless and stress-free!

Went for Valentines dinner. The atmosphere was nice. They decorated the place with balloons and hearts at the entrance for the photo area. The foods were good and delicious.

The coffee was cold, and the Mango hot cake was without a taste, with nothing sweet, but yes, food looks very attractive for Instagram posts…do not recommend…!!

Went for Valentine's, liked the atmosphere and food is tasty and well plated, service is good so could be a one off... bit of false advertising when menu says *prawns*, assuming maybe 2 or 3 but get a singular *prawn*. For the price I could've eaten double at The Keg. Opentable site didn't mention an extra surcharge on the steak option. The worst part of the experience was my chair snapped leaning back and I almost fell back and impaled myself on the chair, the waitress then said "they aren't suppose to be leaned back in" (I weigh only 210lbs/healthy).. like WOW what a thing to say... Got back after dinner and my gf had immense stomach gas/pain for a few hours from her meal... Won't be back

I absolutely loved Ruex! The food, the service, and vibe of the restaurant was amazing, I don't know why people aren't talking about it more.
I tried the Elote Sweet Corn Fritters and they were super crispy, and flavourful! Very well balanced.

And tried the Strawberry Pistachio Heartbreaker from the special menu. I loved the taste and the texture, very similar to french toast, but crispier and denser! It was more pistachio than strawberry to me but still tasted great.

I will definitely be back!

I came here for brunch w my gf, the decor & overall aesthetic was beautiful! I love that they had small touches of Valentine decor as it's coming up. The food was delicious, y'all MUST try the pull apart bread! The service was terrible. It took us forever to be greeted after we sat down. When our server finally came up to us there was no hi/hello or an introduction and no attempt at having a conversation it was just right to "are you ready to order."

The food is really good, but the atmosphere and staff kind of make you feel like you're not supposed to be there? Like I just get the feeling I'm not welcome the time I've been there. I hesitate to suggest this place to people because the food genuinely is so good, but while the staff aren't rude per se, they just don't make you want to come back.

It’s a beautiful restaurant, I’ll say that. However, the portions and taste is subpar for its price point. We got the strawberry shortcake waffle and the pork belly eggs and Benedict. The strawberry shortcake waffle was bland; it tasted like bread, unsweetened strawberry jam, and unsweetened whipped cream. It was under the “sweet” category of the menu, so that was confusing. The pork belly benny was mediocre and the pork smelled. We left the restaurant pretty hungry and unsatisfied. The impression I’m getting is that this restaurant is trying to present as a slightly upscale eatery with its small portions and aesthetic food presentation, but the flavor just isn’t there to justify the portion and price.

This was our visit to Ruex, we had seen the ad in the Surrey Arts brochure, decided to give it a try. It was amazing, the food was great, (did not realize it was Dine Out Vancouver) the dinner provided a great selection. One of us ordered off the regular menu and the other the Dine Out Vancouver menu. We really enjoyed the food, portion size was excellent, left the restaurant full and had left overs for the next day. We would highly recommend this restaurant, which we already have, will return soon.

A group of 6 of us had dinner and it was fantastic. The food was amazing. Notably, the portions were very generous. A minor con was that the food didn't come out at the same time. I'll definaly be coming back again.
