This is my OG sushi place for the past 8 years. We always come here with friends, family and as church groups. In Surrey, this is the best sushi place in my opinion. My go to is the spicy salmon combo, the sashimi sauce is just too good.
The best sushi I've had in yrs. Any dish served looks just like the pictures, beautifully put together! Service was amazing!!! Super friendly staff & could not believe how good the prices were for the huge portions ?

I tried their oshi combo for a great price as they were having a special. I enjoyed each piece and it had great flavour and variation! Although it was incredibly oily and I felt I needed to pat them off with my napkin before eating.

I've been coming here for years but the zaru soba on the new menu is just plain wrong - zaru soba is normally served on a bamboo sieve or mat, and is dipped in a soy sauce-mirin-dashi sauce. It is so ridiculous that they serve it in an ice-cold soup (there's even ice cubes!)...there's even an overcooked shrimp tempura and the udon noodles are even undercooked...what is going on? Sorry, but won't be ordering this again...

This is our go to restaurant for family dinners. They have large booths at the back that can easily accommodate our group of 11. Food is always consistent, fresh and tasty. My family loves raw fish but I more of a chicken katsu and gomae kinda gal and those dishes at sushi & roll slap.
Kid-friendliness: No issues with food modifications.

The food here is always excellent—fresh and flavorful. I’ve been coming for 10 years because of how delicious it is, even though the service has typically been just okay. Today, however, the service was terrible, which is why I’m giving 3 stars.
I called in the evening to check table availability. They told me I couldn’t make a reservation on short notice but could walk in. When I arrived 20 minutes later with my kids, I asked the hostess for a table, seeing several empty booths. She told me it would be a 40-minute wait. Two minutes later, a group of four walked in and was seated immediately. When I asked why, the hostess said booths were only for groups of four, and since I had three people, we couldn't sit there.
After 15 minutes, she waved us in, but we had to find our own table. I stood holding my 1-year-old, waiting for a high chair, which eventually came without a safety belt. When I asked for a different one, the hostess begrudgingly brought one that was safer.
At the end of our meal, the hostess brought one takeout box and the bill, without asking how our meal was. I had to request another box, and even then, no bag was offered. I found myself juggling two boxes, a 1-year-old, and my 4-year-old, struggling to leave. Fortunately, one of the chefs noticed and kindly offered a bag, asking how the food was. He was the only one who showed care during the whole experience.
The food was great as always, but the poor service really took away from the experience.

I order regularly from this store. However, today was disappointing.
I ordered Negitoro rolls and we were extremely disgusted as the tuna tasted like it had gone bad. I have ordered this before and I know this is not how it should taste like. My family tasted it at the same time and had the same negative reaction.
I called the restaurant and I complained about it. Instead of being accommodating, the restaurant was adamant that they got the fish early today and "the stale taste is just from the green onions mixed with the fish."
My daughter was looking forward to this roll as she has gotten the same thing before. But she spat it out after tasting it.
Wow, amazing sushi. Everything was so super fresh it just melts in your mouth.

I saw this sign in the men's washroom when I ate there today. It's important for the restaurant owners to understand what the sign is prohibiting. According to the sign posted, with disposing of used toilet paper, people must place it in the wastepaper bin and not flush it down the toilet. It's acceptable if you're expecting the unfortunate person responsible for emptying the trash bin daily to do more than what is expected. I hope the person is okay with handling used toilet paper (if used to wipe fecal matter or bodily fluids) and its accompanying smell. I hope person has nothing but the best.
