The service at this restaurant—both in terms of attitude and actual service—was absolutely terrible. When I arrived today, I told the staff that we had a party of ten. Even though there were clearly plenty of empty tables inside, they made me wait outside until everyone in our group had arrived before allowing us to go in.
Once our group was complete and we were finally seated, the table they gave us was in a spot with cold air blowing directly on us. My mother was freezing, so I politely asked if we could move to a nearby table.
The server told me they couldn’t push two two-person tables together to accommodate ten people, and simply refused. The way they spoke to me was extremely rude.
Later, my child was sleeping in a stroller, and I placed the stroller beside me in the hallway so I could keep an eye on him. Then, the server came over and told my mother, “Please move the stroller farther away; it’s blocking our other customers from coming and going.”
I recommend choosing a different restaurant. This place shows no respect toward seniors or families with children, and the service is unacceptably rude and condescending.

Ordered take out and the server name Annie was extremely rude. The way she approached us and the way she handed it over to us. Definitely ruined it even before we opened our food. Would not be coming back.

First time getting takeout from Sushi California and will most definitely be my last. The sushi really isn't anything special, most of them come with little to no sauce and aren't that flavourful nor exotic. So if you're used to more high-end sushi, this is not the place for you. Oh, and if you don't want your whole family getting a stomache and all having diarrhea afterwards--which happened to my family--then I would STRONGLY recommend not eating here. We've never had a negative reaction to sushi at other restaurants, and now that I'm seeing how many reviews complain about their low-quality ingredients, it makes sense as to why they give such big portions for only a few dollars. I'm not sure why many reviews say that their sushi is fresh, because when I take a look at what their sushi did to my family, I would say it most likely wasn't fresh. I would've given two stars if the sushi itself was actually outstanding, but it really is subpar. And the fact that my whole family, including myself, got diarrhea from just SUBPAR sushi makes the whole situation much worse. Please, splurge a little more money at a different sushi restaurant, because you really get what you pay for at Sushi California.

Not sure how the quality of food, service and atmosphere has fallen. A lot of the nigiri and maki rolls have really fell in quality. Yakasoba taste dry and no smoke flavor on the chicken teriyaki.
Servers seem super stressed with it being no check ups at all
Edit: just saw 6 people get there tables... but we've been seated for 15 minutes and we haven't been asked anything...

I have yet to try their menu in an extensive fashion, but what I did order came on a timely manner; people were respectful and the food was delicious. Reasonable pricing as well.. I'll keep going back ??

Food was very good, spicy tuna sashimi one of the favorites. Great spot for casual eats. Server took about 15 minutes until checking if we were ready to order, at the moment the server came n was already half way to the counter to ask if we could order now. Not sure where she was but was a lot longer than expected. It may be because we were sat in a corner? Great food, maybe just an off day for the staff. It was not busy, at about 2pm.
Always enjoy coming here and have been for 6 years now. The service is always good and the servers are always friendly. Doesn't matter whether you take out or dine in. Food is always good and they're happy to change your order to suit your needs. The rolls are definitely on the larger side if life but that makes it more interesting. You get a lot for your money and that's the reason I keep coming back here. Our order was 55$ including tip

I ordered assorted sashimi and it was delicious..the cuts (salmon /hamachi) were so thick along with other seafoods Recommended for sushi cravings..??

Ben was a gracious server!!! Honestly the tuna today was melt in your mouth ? amazing food, genuine best prices in the industry,,, I highly recommend the Surrey location being the best I've ever had,, please visit this location ?
