This restaurant used to be my go to sushi restaurant for the past 10 years but not anymore.

I ordered from here last month for my family (majority of them being vegetarian - not me though) and the restaurant had mixed all the meat rolls with the veggies ones and there was no sauce with the spicy tofu agedashi. My family did not eat the rolls since they are purely vegetarian.

They told us they would compensate us with credit but tried to order today and was told we can only get the credit if we order the same items that went wrong. I am not a vegetarian and do not order vegetarian sushi unless for my family - they told me no way I can get the credit for other items since it is their “rule”. Was on the call for almost 10 minutes trying to understand this rule but the customer service was not it. Bluntly said no you can’t order other items with your credit.

Credit should be given to any item that a customer wants to order - not just items that they had gotten wrong in the first place.

They lost a loyal customer due to their lack of customer service.

I ordered take-out from this restaurant and was really disappointed with the experience. I placed a fairly large order, including vegetarian rolls, but they mixed them in the same containers with fish and other meat items. This is a big problem, especially for people who are vegetarian or have dietary restrictions.

The food itself was okay; items were missing the sauces . The lack of care in packaging and handling made it very frustrating. When ordering sushi, or any food restaurants make sure they separate vegetarian items from meat and seafood.

I hope the restaurant can improve on this, because it makes a big difference for customers with specific food preferences.

I recently started visiting this place and loved the food they offer. I ordered a take out today and asked the cashier to swap the sauce as I am not fond of that black sauce, she denied and I requested if it can be swapped with any other sauce she denied again. I don’t understand that if it’s that big of a deal….

Overall, this sushi place was pretty good. The menu offers a wide variety of options, with plenty to choose from whether you’re into nigiri, aburi-style sushi, or fried sides.

We ordered several different types of sushi and tempura. Everything we tried tasted decent. The aburi salmon with sliced chili had a nice smoky flavor and a bit of heat, and the texture was smooth and tender. The tempura was crispy and not too oily, with just the right portion size.

The quality is consistent. While it’s not fancy or high-end sushi, it’s a great spot for when you’re craving something casual and comforting.

✨ Definitely a place I’d come back to for an easy everyday meal.

1/5 stars - Disappointing Experience at Sushi Topia*

I'm extremely disappointed with my recent experience at Sushi Topia. I ordered takeaway ramen noodles with specific instructions to add more veggies and less noodles. However, when I opened my order, I was shocked to find it had less veggies, more noodles than requested, and the noodles had a strong, unpleasant smell.

I visited the restaurant to report the issue, and unfortunately, they initially refused to acknowledge the problem. After some persistence, they agreed to refund my money. However, I offered an alternative solution - a complimentary veg sushi platter, considering I'm a frequent customer.

Surprisingly, after taking my contact number for the refund, they informed me that they wouldn't be taking any further action regarding my feedback. It seems they only wanted to resolve the issue for the refund, not to improve their service or food quality.

Given the circumstances, I'd advise potential customers to double-check their orders before leaving and consider alternatives. Hopefully, Sushi Topia will take customer feedback more seriously in the future.

*Update:* If you're a frequent visitor like me, be prepared for a potentially disappointing experience despite your loyalty.

Have been here a few times now. Still amazed at this great little spot that is tucked away at the end of a strip mall in Surrey... proof that great things do come in little packages. Cozy and comfortable, friendly and affable service and the food is fantastic. On the most recent visit we had great BC rolls, beautiful chirashi don and Dynamite combo, elegantly presented and very very good. Price is right too. Two happy thumbs up!

Super rude lady at the front. I wish that lady know how to check for register delivery driver. We have been doing this from so long and of course he is registered. Check id and registration if you need conformation, but Please practise politeness with other drivers/people next time.
I wish I had taken video of how we were treated when we entered the building to pick up customers food.

I had an extremely disappointing experience at this restaurant. The food itself was far from impressive, tasting as though it had been reheated multiple times instead of freshly prepared. However, what really stood out and left a negative impression was how they treated delivery drivers. When a SkipTheDishes driver politely asked if they could use the restroom, the staff coldly turned them away. It’s unacceptable for any business to deny basic facilities to individuals who are out working tirelessly to deliver meals. Between the subpar food and the lack of consideration for hardworking delivery workers, I can confidently say that I will not be returning. I strongly advise against supporting a place that offers such poor customer service and shows such disregard for those who help their business operate.
