The Jollof rice with friend plantain and coleslaw was amazing. My mouth is watering just writing about it. The combination of the sweet and salty plantain, with the spicy rice and crispy creamy coleslaw was sooooo good. The moment I got home I reheated my leftovers- and the day after I was looking up jollof rice and fried plantain recipes

I just wish there was a vegetarian soup so I could try the fufu.

1st time trying African food so wasn't sure what to expect; didn't expect to like it this much. To go order: goat efusi + spinach, which came with fufu (pounded yam). It's spicy, incredibly flavorful, and so tender. Their online order platform is easy to use and their service was friendly as I had questions about what to order. Will definitely return & spread the word as this place is a hidden gem

It’s our first time trying fufu!!
Got so excited cause I got influenced
And I forgot the soup that we ordered ,the women who was serving us told us it’s spicy 🌶️
It’s SO SUPER spicy, the level of spicy kinda made it taste less good but I couldn’t stop even tho my lips were swollen. 😩🤩

Food is worth making the trip from Vancouver. Had eaten from here twice before, no complaints. The egusi & fufu (pounded yam) is very good.

I am very disappointed with my recent order. The website checkout makes tipping feel mandatory rather than optional, which is not transparent. The food quality was unacceptable. The beans were sour and the plantain was not fit to serve. The fried rice and jerk chicken were also poor.

I called to report the issues and was told that the beans were fine and only the plantain was a problem. If the plantain is not good, it should not be sold. This experience has shaken my confidence in the kitchen quality and the customer care. I would not recommend this restaurant based on this visit.

waited 15 mins to order then another 20 for my food.. I got the fufu and egussi which was delicious but the meat was tough. it was $27 before tax. It is a lot of food but fufu is not good anymore after putting it in the fridge for the next day. I don’t think I will be coming back.

I ordered fufu with egusi soup, and honestly, I was really disappointed. The fufu was gritty, dry, and tasted more like mashed potatoes than real fufu. It should be smooth, stretchy, and easy to swallow this wasn’t it at all.
I asked for spicy, and while it was spicy, that’s all you could taste. There was no depth, no real flavor just heat. Proper egusi should have a rich, nutty, slightly earthy flavor from the melon seeds, balanced with the seasoning, meat, and vegetables. This just tasted harsh and oily, like the spice was covering up everything else.
Maybe it’s because I’m white and they didn’t think I’d know the difference, but I do and in my country, this would be shameful to serve. I genuinely wanted to enjoy and support them, but this meal was a big disappointment.

Only customer dinning in on a raining night. Owner/server was super helpful and answered all our questions regarding Fufu.

Order Jollof rice with Jerk - Honey chicken.
-A bit too savory for my East Asian taste bud but definitely love the experience.

Girlfriend ordered Pounded Yam, Eba Or Ogali Served With Egushi & Spinach Goat & Beef Soup.
-Quite spicy and goat is a bit dry but very savory and hot ! Love the combination with pounded yam.

Food God

Absolutely delicious, the spice is better in the baked beans if you like spice but definitely the best African cuisine I've had, although selections are limited in Vancouver, the food here surpassed my expectations and is better than most restaurants in Vancouver. I also really liked their clothing and decor, it was very culturally beautiful. Ignoring the area and coming to try the food here is a must for any foodie. I wish them success.

If you haven't had jerk chicken yet, you must. It's basically a healthier version of BBQ chicken, but it falls off the bone and has a very hearty taste.
