Salmon poke so delicious!
Food is okay, not bad but a little bit on the pricier side. The service is rude and condescending. Would not be back. Tea/water wasn't instantly being refill, i had to call them to get a refill, instead of that, they still didn't fill my tea, just the water, had to ask for garnish/soy sauce plate instead of already being put on the table, no smile, no thank you when paying the bills, she just gave me the machine, ask if i want receipt and immediately scanned for how much tips I give. Umhhuh, tips is earned. Your service is really bad, you need our money, not the other way around. You guys would need a lot to improve. Try to learn the canadian culture if you expect tips & money, which is smiling and greeting people warmly. I gave tips just not a lot, you should know why.
Awesome service! They brought ice cubes for my daughter's soup without us asking and gave her an extra candy after.
Good customer service
So disappointing. I’ve eaten sushi all over and always get a box because I love a little of everything. First of all small amount of chicken and the veggies were beyond soggy. Came with one prawn, everywhere else you get two. Roll is very fishy, not fresh at all. Got one packet of soy sauce, others give you a full dish. Will not be back and do not recommend. Also my lunch was sitting at the window 15 minutes before it was supposed to be ready. Everything was cold!
A hidden gem in a sea of businesses. Umami is a must visit whether you live in Surrey, or just passing through. This was my second visit and Umami feels like a trusted old friend. The sushi was fresh and delicious. And the presentation! Like a work of art. Almost as if each kernel of rice was placed by the hands of a renaissance artist. The soup was hot and flavorful and filled me with joy and warmth on a cold winter's night. And the staff are amazing. They remind me of family gatherings when I was just a toddler. My aunt Vita and uncle Lou would have loved it here. It's definitely worth the trip and I highly recommend you indulge in this masterpiece of culinary delight.
Ordered approx 65 $ of food . Found a long black hair in first dish put it aside. Continued with the dinner box and left everything g foe later. Opened my soup with another black hair at bottom. I'm dissatisfied and upset about this. So expensive for the amount of food and ruined our special night. Sorry for the negative review
We have been ordering takeout for several years since we live close by. I was hugely disappointed with they way our order was handled yesterday. My husband ordered at 5pm, was told ready to pick up in 30 minute. I arrive 5 minutes early, told ready in 5 and asked to sit. A few minutes later, I paid with a good tip, and told ready in 3 minutes. Five minutes go by, then 10 and 15, now going on 20 minutes. Tell the hostess this, she offers tea, I say no just want the order. A lady after me, has also sat for 10 mins waiting for her order. To my surprise she gets hers before me and leaves. Finally I’m called and I make sure it’s the correct order. Hostess is shocked when she realizes she has given my order to the lady who left. She calls the lady to explain what happens, lady will return. Meanwhile others have come in to pick up their orders. Hostess tells me kitchen will prepare fresh order for me. Now it has been 35 minutes. Lady returns with my order, hers is given to her and she leaves. Finally 40 minutes later, my correct order is finally given to me. I was very surprised there was no offer to reimburse or extra food for waiting almost an hour. I have never been more disappointed in a restaurant as I was with this one. One weak apology does not make up for bad customer service and lack of compensation.
Whenever I eat this udon, the temperature at which it is served can only be describe by the feeling as if I had a literal Japanese shogun grabbing my neck: it pains my throat but I let it happen.
Jokes aside, this little restaurant has been serving the community for years! They always have great food and great service, depending which day you go!
they serve real wild salmon very important only goog sushi bars have that
Restaurantji Recommends
Always good reliable
The food quality is great here. Good friend service and reason potions for a good price.
I often get their gyoza and spring rolls or deep fried prawns. Always hot and delicious.
Excellent variety of food, excellent flavor and unbeatable service. All staff strive to satisfy the needs of their clients
Pretty good sushi, both in taste and presentation. It's a little more expensive than Sushi Shin down the road so that's something to keep in mind.
The Phoenix Roll was absolutely delicious though and that is one of the cheaper rolls.
