We had booked Sumerian Grill in Surrey for our family’s baptism party. I personally confirmed the reservation with both the employees and the owner well in advance. We invited all of our family and friends, and we were looking forward to a special day.
To our shock, at 10 PM the night before the event, the owner called us to say that they had booked another party and “forgot” about ours. This left us scrambling, stressed, and heartbroken after all the planning we had done. There was no real attempt to make things right or help us salvage the celebration — just a last-minute cancellation.
This is completely unacceptable for any restaurant or event venue. Reliability is the most basic expectation when hosting an important life event like a baptism. Because of this experience, I cannot recommend Sumerian Grill for any kind of gathering or celebration.
