Some of the best pizza I have ever had. A must-stop in Tofino.

The traditional wood-fired pizza oven is what initially caught my attention, so we drove over with high hopes and ordered two pizzas — a pepperoni and a margherita. We were greeted warmly, and the order was prepared quickly, fresh, and delivered without much wait. Unfortunately, the pizza itself didn’t quite live up to expectations. The crust was bit soggy, and the pepperoni pizza was a bit burnt, which really affected the overall flavour. With better crust execution and more balanced baking, it could have been a great pizza. Perhaps it’s better when dining in — we may give it another try next time.

This place was amazing! As soon as you walk in you’re hit with the comforting scent of cedar stacked up near the entrance. It was so warm and cozy. The manager and employees were so kind and personable. The Napoli and Margherita pizzas were absolutely delicious! They’re made fresh so expect to wait a bit. The pickles were a good appetizer while we chatted and waited for the pizza. The dining area is a bit small which adds to the coziness of it, but we went around 5:00pm on a Saturday (January 24 to be precise) and there were plenty of open tables to choose from.
Don’t forget to try the tiramisu! It was the perfect sweet treat to wrap up a delicious meal. The menu suggests ordering it when you order your entrees and we’re glad we did as they only had two servings left! They sell out relatively quickly.
Pizzas were ~$22-25 each and the tiramisu was $15 before tax and tip.
I highly recommend Basic Goodness Pizza for their great food, atmosphere, and service. Looking forward to going back next time I visit Tofino!

Nothing basic about this pizza. They got it down to a science. From the moment you walk in, your hit with the smell of the cedar wood piled against the wall. Then you notice the dome wood stove. I looked at my friend Ya this is going to be good. Sitting there with the mountain in the backround. The pizza came out. The bottom slightly burnt, the crust thin, the peperoni has the smokey flavor. Well I was so wrong, yup it was fantastic. I don't know what the secret is. Is it the water, the air in this area. What ever you guys are doing. Keep it up. Thanks for the memory.

Lovely pizza. The crust is perfectly made; airy and chewy with beautiful charred stripes. The staff are friendly and accommodating. Great, relaxed atmosphere with an alluring wood-smoke smell.

We had margherita and funghi, safe to say I will always order margherita if I am in Tofino, wouldn't recommend the Funghi tho. I like mushrooms but this one wasn't good. Ironically margherita was so good, but so good that it doesn't matter if I enjoyed funghi or not. It was that good.

Had a great dinner here tonight! Pepperoni pizza was amazing, definitely filling though! Restaurant was pretty empty but there was good service as well as live hockey on TV and upbeat background music, so it was a good time overall 😁
Recently went here with a group of 6. The owner Heather was great! She and her team were so warm and welcoming. The food was even better and drinks were great. I would definitely come back here!

I called at 7pm on a Saturday night. The phone rang and no one answered. A recording came on and said they close at 8pm or maybe earlier ?? So should I just drive for 15 minutes and hope for the best ?

I honestly don’t know how anyone could write a negative review about this place. I live in NYC, and this pizza could hold its own against some of the best in the city. The space itself is thoughtfully designed - understated yet stylish and cozy. The wine and prosecco selections are exceptional and the selection of local beers spot-on. Everything here is beautifully curated, from the food to the ambiance. Highly, highly recommended.
