Soooo good. We had Mike as our server and the chef was apparently on his last stage shift - I ordered the special which was a coffee crusted pork chop and my partner had the steak frites. Both were SO tasty. I'm not too sure who was bartending but my somewhat picky partner said the old fashioned was perfect. Would defs come back.

Excellent food, great service, a quirky atmosphere, and the entertainment of watching the cooks working with a wood fire. We had a great meal and a wonderful evening. Definitely worth a return trip.

Our server was excellent. The food however was not. The chowder was not hot enough and needed to be reheated. Lots of mussels, no shrimp and barely any salmon. Burger, although the perfect size very dry. Once again our server was excellent as were the other staff. So disappointed in the food.

We were there for Christmas day and expected a nice, relaxing dinner. What we got was rush rush, more like a quick lunch break or student mensa. We ordered a pre-dinner drink, it arrived after the starter. We talked to the waitress about it. Her comment was - well then u have your food before the drink - everything was extremly fast to a level where we said "never again". Clearly not what we expected, while the food was quite nice and the price reasonable

In my humble opinion, the shared platter was the way to go. Amazing value for what we ate! The food is beautifully presented and the cocktails are gorgeous, strong, and delicious. And the servers are all so friendly 😊
Amazing retro atmosphere! Our server Emily was so attentive and showed our kids all the cool features around the hotel! The food was nothing short of spectacular! Cooked fresh with fresh local ingredients - stunning! The broccoli cheese soup and clam chowder as well as steak frites with a side of scallops & rigatoni bolognese were standouts! We will definitely be returning:)

I found it to have quite a limited menu and I was not impressed with smell and taste of the cedar board salmon. The service was great though!

Roar didn't really match the vibe of the rest of the hotel. It's like no real creative efforts were made to match the decor and quirkiness. The menu was a little limited with ingredients that were unusual but were presented in a basic and bland way. That said, the breakfasts were excellent. Would recommend for the first meal of the day but perhaps not the last. With one exception, the staff were all superb. The exception needs to be a little more welcoming.

We arrived at 6:25 for a 6:30 reservation. Even though there were empty tables, we were told to sit in a waiting area for our table. Food was decent, but host at door was aloof and disinterested.
