We had a fabulous breakfast here during our stay in Tofino. We had the ham eggs Benny and the mushroom hash and oh boy was it ever flavourful and quite a generous portion. I’d love to go back and definitely recommend it to anyone passing through. The vibes of the building are also quite neat and vintage which made for a unique experience.

Such a funky spot. Great coffee and pastries. Staff are super kind and inclusive. Ask about the hidden room behind the bookshelf.

Probably the slowest and most inconvenient coffee shop that I’ve ever gone to. A simple drip coffee can take up to 40 minutes to get. The female behind the counter with blonde hair has no sense of how to manage her time with clearly no accountability from a management perspective. People who value their time, beware.

tipsy lad

Pretty decent place but service for mornings take a long time, around 45+ mins for food so maybe take that into account.
Food was decent but the spuds were not spuds, they were more like fries.
Slightly pricey but overall pretty average price for the area.

Stopped here for breakfast on a rainy day in Tofino! We were greeted with a warm smile and our server was such a delight. Food was good, and coffee was great! Get the chicken and waffle…yum!!!

Took a little long to get our food but maybe we’re use to fast pace life in the big city;)

We stopped at ROAR coffee shop and had a blueberry scone and a couple of oat lattes on a recent trip to Tofino. Excellent food and service and the lobby of the Hotel Zed had a cozy retro sunken living room vibe. Well done!

Vegetarian options: Anything without meat ;)

Small coffee shop in the hotel Zed complex. It's worth stopping by just for the ambience of the coolest hotel in Tofino.

I have been to Roar many times over the years and it’s never once disappointed. I was recently there with my two kiddos celebrating my birthday, the staff helped make it memorable. Thank you for everything ❤️

Delicious breakfast in a funky and lovely setting with very friendly staff and a lovely open kitchen concept. Smoked Salmon eggs Benedict was outstanding!

In tofino for a couple of nights kids free and we had perused the menu ahead of time. The do a shared plate Ribeye steak, dry aged 37 days. Super funky 60's theme with macrame and rattan, loved the vibe. We had Mike, with the lovely blue shirt and he was charming and super knowledgeable about the menu and cocktails. Well it turned out to be the BEST steak we have ever eaten! Incredible steak-cuterie with many sauces (which I love) and the steak was cooked to absolute perfection! The chimichurri, the mushrroms just, absolute chefs kiss! The veg, the salad, just so good!! Definitely recommend if you want a killer steak spread and to tantalize your taste buds!!!

There is absolutely nothing else like this place and the Hotel Zed. The decor - brilliant! The food is exquisite and the staff are outstanding. We will definitely be back again and again!

Just a weird vibe from the start. Our table wasn’t ready so we had lovely cocktails at the bar but oddly had to settle up before being seated in the dining room. This led to a mix up when we reordered cocktails ( got one wrong-understandable) but our server refused to acknowledge her mistake initially and made us feel bad about asking for a replacement. We ordered an appetizer each- the first came after about an hour and the other 2 came about 15 minutes later. Mains came after about another 50 minutes. I’m not a fussy diner but, man, we were pretty hungry and felt like this was an unacceptable wait with minimal apology. I’ve been coming to Tofino since the 90’s and this was by far my worst dining experience ever. Also, the seared scallops (all 2 of them!) and grilled squid were served cold. Maybe they were meant to be but to me seared and grilled means warmish at least. My 3 stars are for the Honeybee cocktail- probably the best I’ve ever enjoyed!
