I ate here during my Tofino vacation, got a chicken burger. 8 days later and I lost 12 pounds and am finally feeling better after being sick the whole week. I just got a call back from my doctor, my lifelabs test was positive for Campylobacter, a type of infection that comes from Poultry. & for the record this was the only chicken I ate the 7 days prior.

To the kitchen staff, take care when handling chicken! I am hoping I am the only one but you might have made a whole whack of people very sick because of this lack of care.

If I didn't get sick it would be a solid review, food was decent and the environment (right by the beach) was awesome.

Honestly the place might not look like much, but they had very good fish tacos and an amazing fish and chips (best in the area at least for me).

Food was really nice - tacos were super fresh, queue was minimal, service was friendly and the beach is literally next to you so a really great place to get some food and soak in the views!

I can’t say enough about this place. We are here everyday we were staying at the resort.

Great place, just by the beach. It's inside the resort. If you're coming from the beach you have to enter through the resort and you won't miss it. Veggie poutine is great and also de burgers. And, the cherry on top, they sell beer six-packs so you don't have to go into town to get beer!

Amazing no notes. Loved the poutine and the cod.

10/10 greek chicken burger and 20/10 potato chips, 30/10 ocean breath and fire-spots!

The Halibut Cakes were so tasty! I enjoyed this place so much that I went back a second time! Fish Tacos for Round 2. Not as tasty as the Halibut Cakes but were good none the less. I don't care for Cilantro so I probably should've tried something else. Next time!

No pictures because the food vanished 🫣🤤 in previous visits, I've missed out on the halibut, they can run out, so I came early this time and was not disappointed. Crispy light batter, fresh slaw and chips. Great spot to sit fireside (yes they have fire pits going for your pleasure!) and enjoy delicious, fresh food. Not super crowded come mid October, bring your reactive pup, chill and enjoy the sunset with cider or craft beer and those you love.

I believe Surfside Grill is a sibling to Wildside Grill a bit further north on the Pacific Rim Highway, a favorite outdoor venue I also frequent. My daughter, granddaughters and I rode bikes there on Thanksgiving weekend so in addition to the generous servings of halibut (there was no cod but hey, halibut!?) and chips we all had a bite of the special - turkey on a bun - and of course I had a can of the Tofino Ethereal IPA. With drinks and tip it was just shy of $100 for 2 adults and 2 kids. The outdoor eating area is spartan but the beach is close by for an exhilarating walk after lunch.
