what a great find , we were looking for a drink at the golf course and found tacos !!! made our roadtrip that much better. delicious tacos and carnitas

Says they open at 11am. When we got there at 11:10am they were still closed and the lady came outside and said they are running behind and will be open “shortly”. We waited around for 25 minutes, and they still didn’t open, so we left. Had she told us it would be that long, we wouldn’t have waited.

It’s been three years since we last visited. Down to Covid restrictions, travelling around BC, our clubs follow us. We played nine holes three days in a row, we love our golf. The course was impressive, greens are slow, but you have to know what you are doing. Can be walked, but if you want to keep your swing, it’s a great nine hole course.

What a great find. Much smaller menu than the Tacofino in Tofino, but the quality is excellent.Shared the following with my wife.Fish (Fresh Cod) Tacos, Beef Brisket Tacos and Crispy Chicken Tacos.Tomorrow is another day and another adventure.

I golfed Longbeach golf course this past week. To start with, it’s a par 36 and I shot 41. The course is not one for a high handicap player. It is really tight, greens are small and the fairways slope towards the bush. If your ball goes in the bush, forget about it unless you want to see a bear. It is an interesting track, but not one that I would want to play again.
Now for the bad, when I walked into the clubhouse, there was a sign, “Members Only”. I wasn’t sure what that mean as it seemed to be the entrance into the lounge and bathrooms. I found out what the meant when our round was over and my wife wanted to use the washroom, she was told she couldn’t use the one in the clubhouse and needed to go to the campground. This is soo far from being a private golf course yet their attitude is that they are. They had no interests in selling me a thing within their clubhouse. When I asked about the prices, I was told, what do you want to buy, I have all the prices here on the list.
I realize that their are water issues this year and accepted the dead fairways. All of their watering is on the greens, I totally understand that. When in the clubhouse, I commented on the dead fairways and the reply was that they are being watered. Sorry but they are not. If they would of, I probably would of played 18 holes rather than the 9 I did.
After playing here, I soon understood all the comments on Trip Advisor.
My advise for someone wanting to golf here, stick to the mini golf. It will cost you less and is in better condition.
For this course to improve, they really need to address the poor staffing issues. They are not very welcoming.

Great location, good amenities, cheaper than other campgrounds, clean washroom and hot shower. We stayed 3 nights and booked it last minute during peak season. Unfortunately there was a fire ban in effect. Happy i found this place. I recommend!
Let me start by saying I do ALOT of camping, and a lot of crown land camping, where wildlife ( bears) are present. This trip brought us on a honeymoon road trip, so tent camping instead of our bumper pull trailer. Upon arriving we were told there was a bear in the area and that our campsite had to be clean, totally understandable as I said above, I do a lot of camping in the forest where bears are present and my husband is an avid hunter so we have a huge respect for wildlife and I know that everything must be kept tidy, and attractants put away, as we make sure to do always as I am not a fan of having bears in the vicinity. Next to us in a campsite there was a large group of teens/ young adults camping, no big deal. Until day three taking my dog for a walk, I walked past their campsite and noticed there were cups and water bottles and alcohol beverage containers strewn all over the table, and not a camper in site. When my husband and I went up to brush our teeth I mentioned to the young gal working about the mess and how I was concerned. She said she would have it dealt with. Fast forward ten minutes to a golf cart screaming into our campsite, with what appeared to be a cross between Alfred E Newman and the stupid kid from “We’re the Millers” ( I can only assume managements offspring) chewing ME out! Asking how I knew they left stuff laying around, and if I went into their campsite, umm no you can clearly see it walking by!! Claiming these people were his “friends” and they bring TEN garbage bags every time they come here ( weird flex, but ok!)The next day these kids moved directly across from us, I might add four tents and as many cars ( two allowed per site so says the “rules” that clearly this kids “friends” do not have to abide by). Day 4 the site right next to these young adults had another group show up, who after this I realized all of these people were together….walking past this site there were crows digging through the garbage bag ( one of the ten?) and had garbage strewn all over the place. A campstove on the table, dirty dishes and drink cans all over the place. Alfred/ We’re the Millers kid drives by, backs up and goes into the site, cleans up the garbage and goes to sit with his “friends” for the next half hour or so. Campstove was not confiscated though, which it should have been, but that’s when I realized these too were his “friends”, and NO I didn’t report it to management because why bother, to get my butt chewed out again? The whole time this kid is driving around for the 5 days we were here he’s driving the golf cart like he stole it, and there was no such thing as coming to a gentle stop. It’s safe to say that the experience we had at this campsite ruined our honeymoon, and our whole experience in Tofino/Ucluelet, not to mention our little dog who is normally the best little camper was a ball of anxiety the whole time, and one night had to be put in our vehicle to sleep because he was keeping us awake shaking ( not from the cold) not sure if it was the hostile environment or him sensing that there was wildlife near that could hurt him or his humans! The bathrooms and showers could use more than a once a day cleaning, perhaps some plastic grates on the cement so you’re not forced to step in mud when exiting the shower ( I had to take my own Lysol wipes to clean the shower before use)….and the feces all over the toilets was wonderful. Don’t get me wrong the staff at the golf course and restaurant etc were amazing and I hope this review doesn’t affect them, but I don’t think this campground should be run by a bunch of kids. I have kids this age and they were brought up not to be little jerks! So don’t waste your money here, or do if you want your trip ruined and to feel disrespected, and worried about possibly being a soft taco for a bear because someone’s “friends” don’t have to follow the rules.. I am actually super interested to see what management has to say about this and how they belittle me like they have to everyone that leaves a bad review…

Convenient campground in between Tofino and Ucluelet. Easy access when visiting either city with this campground in the middle and on an easy access highway. Campground was basic, there certainly are other nicer places to stay. Website advertised amenities during covid yet once checked in to campground discovered no showers available. Unlike most other campgrounds where there is no pet fee this place charges a fee ($5.00 for pets). NOTE there is an airport right beside the campground so noise can be an issue. Wouldn't stay again

We had a great time camping here at this campground. The bathrooms are tidy and clean and the staff are really friendly. It's nice and close to get to long beach and the town centre. Highly recommend this spot to camp at.

Not sure why all the negative reviews. This is a laid back Tofino style campground, not fancy but we have always had a great time here. We camped in RV 4 with our friends in RV 3 for 5 nights in Sept/20 and had an unbelievable time. The sites are comfortable & the staff were very friendly & accommodating. We enjoyed golf during the day (on a fantastic course) & fire pits @ night. The icing on the cake was Tacofino was open for business in the restaurant right next to the pro shop & us! We lucked out...no line ups & the best tacos on the planet. Exceptional trip...our 2nd year there & already planning for next year. Thanks Cory & staff...you guys ROCK!!
