Had the best burger here. The music was so vibey. The waiter gave me a blanket and heater when I was cold. So cozy and the food was so good. Defs coming here again my next visit to tofino.

The pub plays excessively loud music which essentially prevents hotel patrons from sleeping while they are open. Hotel descriptions dramatically downplay the prevalence and intensity of the music they play, which progressively becomes louder and more penetrating the longer they’re open. Massive detriment to the hotel building.

The is place has potential, but service needs improvement. The server took our order and they were out of a couple of dishes that we wanted at around 7pm. The waitress came back to get my order while I looked for a 3rd option, but put in the orders for the other 3 in our group. This resulted in my dinner being served well after everyone else. They ate so their food wouldn’t be cold and were almost done when my order arrived. The glass of wine I ordered with dinner finally appeared as I was finishing my meal. While the food was good, the experience did not deliver a quality dining experience.

My husband and I were so pleased with our experience here. Beautiful rooms, lobby, cafe restaurant, and just our kind of bar. It was hard to leave. Our server Emily in the restaurant was amazing, as was all of the staff we came across. Look forward to finding my way back there. I miss it already.

We've been to The Maq Pub three times now, and each visit has been a great experience — enough to finally leave a review!
The first time was in May after dining at Ombre. While the food there was tasty, the portions were a bit small, so we came to Maq to grab a drink and eat some more. The decor instantly caught our eye — funky, artsy, and full of character (loved the burnt toast piece and the red bear!).
We ordered grilled octopus, vongole, oysters, mussels, and wings — solid 7/10 pub food (which is not a knock). The real star was the vibe: super relaxed and welcoming.
We came back a second time with family just for oysters and mussels — both were fresh and delicious. The very next day, we returned again for more oysters, a burger, and pasta for our 3-year-old. It was casual, family-friendly, and stress-free.
Across all three visits, we had different servers, and every one of them was friendly, attentive, and genuinely kind. Special mention to Finland who served us today — awesome dude, made the experience even better.
The crowd is a great mix — young families, locals, and adults out to have a good time. It really feels like everyone can find their place here.
There’s even a cozy patio with a fireplace and thick blankets — perfect for a cool Tofino evening. Whether you’re grabbing a late-night bite, having drinks with a group, or dining with kids, Maq has something for everyone. Wings, seafood, steak, burgers, pasta — all solid options.
If you’re visiting Tofino and want great vibes with a dependable menu, The Maq Pub is definitely worth a visit.
The breakfast wrap was pretty good. Maybe a touch too spicy for breakfast.

We were in Tofino for a bachelorette. They were able to get us in last minute for a reservation when our other plans fell through. Our server was Emily and she was phenomenal - very knowledgeable about the menu and had great suggestions. Very friendly staff and the bartenders were amazing! Even made the bride to be a drink that wasn't on the menu!
We popped down to the bar later that night and had an absolute blast!

Incredible on Sundays, karaoke night was okay but the people running it were kinda annoying, could have just been the night, if you’re looking to dance though this is the best club on the island to get down to some house !!
