First off...I'm not a complainer. The positives...a nice location, homey type atmosphere ,with a 'cool' vibe.
Tomato / basil soup was decent, but no better. My.request.for a refund was handled without argument, and quickly.
The negatives...the young lady who served me seemed COMPLETELY disinterested .When asked a question about the menu she gestured toward the posted document. Problem is, the place is quite dark, and menu was not easily seen. Service is definitely not her strong suit. Grilled cheese was AWFUL. There was very little cheese and what was there seemed like it had been nuked into oblivion. And dry. Truly god awful.
Would I try this place again? Maybe, but I'd turn tail and run before ordering if I was greeted in the same manner again.
My advice, be prepared to be disappointed.

Great little cafè in town with top notch kind staff who make great coffee and breakfast items. My fiancé and I just got engaged and the staff were super excited about that and wrote congratulations on my fiancé's cup which was a very kind and appreciated gesture. Highly recommend this little shop! Thanks again Barkley Cafè.

This place isn't bad per se, but I think it left something to be desired. The drinks were pretty overpriced, the bagel sandwich was average for how much I paid for it. A bagel sandwich from Tim Hortons would've been just as good at a fraction of cost. $2.50 for a dollop of cream cheese for my wife's bagel that was slathered on with minimal care was a bit perplexing as well.
The wait times were not ideal but I'll give it a pass because it was Sunday and it was busy. Very crowded as well. The saving grace was that the drink tasted great! Saved it from being 2 stars in my opinion
TLDR: Give it a try but buyer beware, it's pretty expensive

The place was packed and for good reason! Dont worry about that line up because their staff move through those line ups with ease. We stopped here quite a few times on our stay. Great walking distance from the Wildwood Inn. Breakfast sandwiches and coffees were really great and hit the spot. Staff were great too.

Great atmosphere and vibe at Barkley! The good is delicious and the breakfast sandwiches are full of flavour. We always love stopping by when we’re visiting the area, highly recommended!

PS: They have a vegan bagel with tempeh bacon on the menu. Haven't seen that in North America yet...
