Very nice breakfast place that is warm and inviting, with exceptional attentive service cits clear that theccooks are professionally trained as their attention to detail in the food and the presentation is outstanding. We had the Heartwood breakfast and decaf coffee. The smashed potatoes were yummy, and the eggs were done just right. The fruit - apple, orange, and melon was fresh tasting. The protein was delicious. The toast was done just right. The place filled up very quickly but was a good vibe. Will definitely come back here.

If you’re looking for a place that feels like home and serves the most delicious breakfast around — this is it! The food is always fresh, perfectly cooked, and served with a smile. The entire team is so friendly and welcoming — they make you feel like family from the moment you walk in.
And let’s talk about Tanya — she’s hands-down the best server ever! She’s attentive, upbeat, and always remembers our favorite orders. Her positive energy makes the whole dining experience even better.
Highly recommend this gem — it’s truly the heart of our mornings! From your friendly local regulars❤️
Incredible breakfast. The buffalo chicken on French toast was insane. Really friendly staff and we were lucky and had no wait at 8.30am. It started getting much busier as we left. The reviews are completely right with how good this place is 👌🏻

This is the best run restaurant I've experienced in years. My wife and I had a wonderful breakfast as we watched this cafe come to life. All customers are met at the door and welcomed in. The 6 or 8 tables filled over the next half hour. The service was a joy to watch. I enquired about a Thanksgiving turkey dinner for two that they were offering as a take out. They had closed sales a few days earlier but lo and behold, they could do three more to feed my family of six. It was delicious, lots of gravy, cranberry, very good stuffing, vegetable, potato and turkey. So much good food that we all decided to have it again the next night.
This was a highlight to our Thanksgiving adventure in Ucluelet

Perfection.
Great food, but sadly the experience was tarnished by poor customer service. There is a sign at the entrance asking customers to wait outside, that staff will be with them shortly. This was clearly not the case even though the restaurant was 60percent empty. I waited outside for 5 minutes. As no one came I wanted inside. I mentioned I had been waiter a long time. The receptionist/server didn’t apologize. She said we do this when we are full. The restaurant was more empty than full. When pressed, she said her boss told her to do this. I watched for my entire stay in the restaurant, none of the servers seem to be checking if people were waiting.

If you're in the area and find yourself waiting to get in, then please wait. It's worth it, I promise. There's a line up for a reason. The place is small and there isn't enough seating, but the wait is worth it when you taste it. It's a family owned and run restaurant and the care and attentiveness shows. My party and I tried several different dishes and neither of them disappointed. I loved the atmosphere created by the host and staff and the food definitely hit the spot. Thank you guys for a very pleasurable dining experience!

We were so excited to try this place as we had heard a lot of reviews!! However, upon arriving the hostess had not only had a rude tone with us as we were a bigger group but engaged in friendly conversation with all other parties while ignoring us.
Having worked in the restaurant industry for the last 3 years, I understand the pressure it takes during rush hour, especially as a larger party.
However not only did the hostess ignore us, but her tone was absolutely disrespectful. As tourists, we won’t be recommending this place, and as human beings, I would reflect on the type of establishment you are running.
We would have happily waited 2 hours (as we have before for other restaurants) had you been nice to us.

today is my first time here and there’s a lot of guests waiting outside to be seated.
the staff told me the waiting time is about 25 mins but later we wait for 50 mins, i think they have a lot of room to improve their service in this aspect.
anyway, the food is very tasty and i particular love the fried chicken , friend toast and fried bacon.,
sure will come again .

Heartwood kitchen has been my favorite place to eat during my stay in Ucluelet and Tofino. Please visit them if you spend time in Ucluelet!
We went to the restaurant for a brunch. We immediately felt that the service was extremely friendly and felt very welcomed. And of course the food is incredible. Special mention to the very well-cooked potatoes.
I can only recommend this place.
And last but not leasat, thank you Ian for a great customer service online. I will remember this place and will absolutely come back when I'm back in Ukee.

The food was soo good I had ate everything then scraped the plate clean!
The house hotsauce is the most flavourful sauce I've ever tried, not the most spicy, the most flavourful. It was so good it could be drank like juice from a bottle.
The chef is professional and plating dishes better then most Michelin chefs I have seen.
This resturant alone is worth the trip from Ontario here. We were finished and I was scraping the plate clean when they came to take them away!
The best brekfeast place in Canada hands down with no question. A must try for anyone able to make the trip.
