This place is absolutely unbelievable. Their food is phenomenal, combining sweet and savory in a way we hadn’t experienced before (the fried chicken and French toast is a must). Their staff is exceptionally friendly (big shoutout to Chef Ian who made our day). It was actually so good we drove here twice from Tofino just to have breakfast.

The best breakfast on the West coast of Vancouver island! We had the fried chicken and French toast when we stopped the night in Ucluelet and then drove all the way from Tofino to have it again!
We also experienced exceptional service here. The servers and kitchen staff were super friendly, helpful, and even went out of their way to help us find a solution to package some fish we had caught the day before.
Never change Heartwood Kitchen! You are awesome.

I’d never had French toast made from a baguette before and I can’t wait to have one again. It was perfectly complemented by the tender and tangy fried chicken.
The staff were incredibly accommodating and kind, other places might have pressured me to leave quickly during Saturday brunch rush, but the Heartwood staff let me finish feeding my baby. I really appreciated their warmth and kindness.

One of the waitresses the dark haired one was un necessarily rude to us the host was very kind and professional and the blond haired lady was great aswell not sure what the 1at lady's problem was we smoked at her and didn't say anything rude to her
My food wasn't cooked very well (my smashed potato was uncooked in tve middle and the other one was burnt ) Smoked salmon is mushy and slimy
