Food was reasonably priced and can't complain about it. Not exceptional but overall it's what I'd expect from a restaurant like this. The shrimp appt was the highlight. However the service was horrible, our server, "stubby", or something like that.. was very incompetent. Couldn't remember our orders despite us just being a 2 top. Anytime we asked a question she apologized because "we are so busy".. the restaurant was maybe 1/5 full and she was responsible for maybe 10-12 guests max. Wish her luck in the summer when the place is at capacity. As someone who works in the industry, very disappointed in the overall experience and I will not be coming back. Spent the whole night laughing out how incredulous the service was. Unreal. Shrimp was good though

Hi - just wanted to tell you that your server Katie is an absolute delight! We came into town this past weekend for storm watching (not expecting a SNOWSTORM), had breakfast at Howlers on Saturday. Katie's her sunny personality and friendly, laidback attitude were so captivating (and the food was so good) that we returned for breakfast on Sunday! She's a real asset to your team. Ask her about the FREE SHOVACADOO!

We regretted so much not to check it out at this place at first night, our 3 days visit. It's truly a family restaurant with amazing homemade food, nice drinks, and very friendly feels like family services from Sherry.
Highly recommended to stop by for the homemade food and nice drinks.

We stopped into Howlers for breakfast on our way out of town. The service was fantastic, very friendly waitress who was on top of all our needs and you can't tell is just a good person who enjoys her job. The food was really well done and very well priced. Super sad we didn't find this place on our way in to town as we would have gone more!!!! Just go, you won't regret it!!!

Fantastic service from great people. Family run and it shows. Food was great and they even stayed open later to entertain some of us out of towners and make our experience memorable! Will definitely be back again!

The fries were unreal & malt vinegar at the table was amazing for them. We were so pleased with the quick service and delicious food! Everything was perfect down to the greasy burger.

Celina & Katie were absolutely phenomenal human beings and wonderful wait staff, very positive people who love to talk and interact with the people they are serving. My partner and I came up from Nanaimo for a weekend getaway and we're just blown away by the hospitality we received. I'd also like to pay compliments to the chef for all the amazing meals we ate. We will be back 10/10 will recommend to everyone we know.

The severers at howlers are awful. Always rude, and the food takes forever. Deep fried food is also pretty expensive. I see why lots of locals don't go here. You can't even say can I get the local discount without receiving a dirty look and feeling bad about it. Me and my friends and I come here once a while always receive a bad experience and we all agree that we aren't coming back. Luckily, other places in town like Eagles Pub and shipwreck are good, with staff being polite and respectful.

Howlers Family Restaurant is open daily from 9 am to 9pm, seven days a week, serving all three meal times, as well as offering home deliveries, the only place which does so in this ocean village of Ucluelet.
This makes Howlers — a legendary & long- standing eating spot in Ucluelet — the one place which stays open more hours than any others in this ocean village, referred to by locals as Ukee.
While some may open for breakfast & maybe, too, for dinner, they close for some of the day in between.
Howlers has recently added breakfast to its repertoire & is currently working on future extending its just set up offerings with two new breakfasts named after two local beaches — Big Beach & Little Beach, one a larger portion than the other.
Service is good & welcoming from its coowners, Amie & Kent, through to staff Taesa & Katie & others, to its delivery person, Jason.
One gets good service no matter the time of day.

We ate the famous fish & chips in this restaurant and were really satisfied. The place is large and welcoming, the staff friendly. It is advisable to book because it is always full but the wait without a reservation, at least for us, was not that long.

Great spot in Ukee. The staff are fabulous and attentive even though they usually have a lot of tables to juggle, atmosphere is fun with games for all, food is solid, and the prices are fair. Definitely a stop you want to make.
