My partner and I eloped in Ukee a couple of weeks ago, and went to Pluvio to celebrate the same evening. From the moment we walked in the door, they did everything possible to make our evening special - champagne, a signed card, a Polaroid photo, thoughtful and artistic dishes that have a story to tell with each ingredient. I can't wait to go back. We usually go twice a year as a treat to ourselves, and we missed our spring trip this year. I think about it constantly. I think I've eaten there at least twice a year since they opened actually and it's still so special every time. The food, service and drinks are like nothing else I've ever had. I would never think to concoct such delicate, yet robustly flavored food but I sure appreciate eating it. We love to stay at the rooms too...
The chef's tasting menu was fantastic! I was lucky to sit at the chef table next to the kitchen and it was so much fun to see cooking at such a high level. The food itself was phenomenal, creative, utilized a variety of ingredients (prepared in multiple ways), and I loved all the natural flavours like the smoked salmon with spruce flavours, the smoked sturgeon with apple, and the crispy sablefish with mushrooms in different forms (still thinking about the crispy fried mushrooms!)....
