Sake Sushi is the one & only sushi sashimi spot in the ocean village of Ucluelet.
It certainly is impressive in this role, making fresh & imaginative dishes of both, & in all the Japanese food categories; some sushi sashimi combos, as well as a nice selection of bowls.
All the offerings from Sake Sushi I have had have been fresh & delicious.
At lunch time it also offers a selection of bento boxes.
It is open all days but Tuesday for both lunch & dinner, with lunch from 11:30 am to just after 2 pm, then closing until 5pm when it opens for dinner, closing @ 10 pm.
It offers complimentary green tea, which its great servers, Michelle & Jennifer, top up & keep hot.
It has a number of craft beers on tap, which are 9$, a little more than the 8$ or less a pint, which is more common @ surrounding places.
As well, it offers Sake options, as would be expected.
The service from Michelle & Jennifer is excellent with them both showing patience with restless & noisy children, who come to eat & play @ its indoor play area.
It also does takeout.
I recommend all three options

Above-average food. Great service. A vegan menu — ask for it if you’re interested. Restaurant was a bit cold and slightly lacking in ambiance but the food and service more than made up for it.
Vegetarian options: They have a vegan menu (on request) with a good range of choices.

This was some of the best and freshest sushi i’ve ever had
Your standard sushi restaurant, but the food’s above average and they have a vegan menu with plenty of vegan options — a welcome choice, especially out of season in Ucluelet, where there can be few vegan options.
Quite literally the worst "Japanese" place I've been to out of over 100 places across Canada. Place is decorated well, though.

They should be open till 10:00 pm. We came here at 9:20 pm, but they did not let us make an order, lady told us kitchen is closed already and turned off the lights in front of us.

Negative experience. Mediocre but expensive food, neglected and dirty environment, even lopsided table. I ordered for my kids two dishes from kids menu; my understanding was they were composed just by rice and meat (no souces that my sons hate) but when they arrived were topped with a souce. I immediately asked to change them (obviously the request for replacement was made without the dishes being tasted) and the answer was that the chef could have re-prepared the two dishes as requested but by ordering them on top after two already received.

Was a long wait time.
They did not have many to help with service, claiming short staff.
The food was great, but it was the same as the normal sushi you get anywhere else.
If you have 20-40 minutes to stand and wait for a table, it was great!

There weren't many people and there was still a queue. It took a long time. The waiter was busy all the time and didn't know what he was doing. His attitude was very average. Most of the food was frozen food and the service attitude was extremely poor.

I once had sushi from a gas station in Sooke, was it gas station sushi? No, it was a tiny little sushi bar attached to the gas station, which was hands down better sushi than this place. If you think it's good, you need to branch out and try anywhere else. Sushi rolls were falling apart, crazy salty, very chewy seaweed, over powering cream cheese to anything else in the philly roll, which to be honest was one of the better ones. Our waitress had as much personality as my left shoe. My vote would be if you're craving sushi, go somewhere else. I'm turned off sushi at this very moment thanks to Sake :/
