Passable. Too small to accommodate expectations of most kinds.

I have a working service dog and have been many times, good food and friendly service. On a recent occasion I was denied access because of my service animal. I was told the individual denying access was the owner. I explained this was a direct violation of BC code and he was uninterested. I’m filing a formal complaint for discrimination and can no longer recommend.

This restaurant has its pros and cons. First, it's quite small, so you'll likely struggle to get a table unless you book ahead. Most of the tables are small as well, but the location is convenient. The menu is much smaller than their other location, which was a bit of a letdown.
One of our party doesn’t eat meat, and we were frustrated that they wouldn’t swap the beef tallow fries for bread with the mussels. They offered to serve the dish without fries but charged extra for bread, refusing to make any substitutions. Almost everything seemed to be cooked in beef tallow, and there were very few options for pescatarians. Unfortunately, vegetarians would find nothing here.
Another issue was with the steak. My two friends initially planned to share it along with another dish but decided to order separately when they realized they liked their steaks cooked differently. One friend requested theirs rare, but it came out medium rare, which was disappointing given it’s the most expensive item on the menu. It was also frustrating that the waiter didn’t mention they only cook their steaks medium rare, which could have saved some trouble on ordering, especially since he was listening to their conversation.
The service wasn’t great and came across as a bit rude, which I suppose is stereotypical for a French restaurant. Overall, the experience was fine but not remarkable—nothing to write home about.
Vegetarian options: I do not recommend this restaurant if you're vegetarian, as there are no options available.
Dietary restrictions: I do not recommend this restaurant if you have dietary restrictions, as there are no options or alternatives available.

Celebrated our anniversary dinner here. It was excellent! They had a small, cozy space in downtown. Loved the ambiance.
The service was pleasant. We loved the food. Had foie gras, crispy escargot, flat iron steak frites, mussels, pinot noir, side of sourdough with anchovy butter, and dark chocolate mousse. Am glad that they kept the menu simple, which means they specialise in what they serve.
Will definitely go back!

I had the Hanger steak, steamed mussels, and escargot. The steak was as I would expect, although the mushroom gravy was underwhelming. The mussels and escargot were just “okay”. Was expecting more for the price.
We love this space as we used to come here for crepes very often in the past. We have visited a few times after it has transformed into Au Petit Comptoir as well and the food quality has always been decent. Instead of calling it a restaurant it feels more like a small wine bar/bistro but the atmosphere is awesome and definitely worth visiting.

A small, very good restaurant with a small but exquisite offering. Everything extremely delicious! The tartare is a revelation, I haven't had such a well-seasoned tartare for years. The steak on point. The service was attentive but unobtrusive. A lovely evening all around. Cheers!

Best steak frites in Vancouver for an unbeatable price. Also by far the best fries in Vancouver! Their chocolate mousse is to die for. Very friendly service.

We came here tonight for my birthday dinner. We wanted somewhere close by and not too boisterous. We thought we would try the re-branded location a try and we LOVED it.
The restaurant is literally a block from our place. The patio (where we sat) in front of the Granville St Bridge chandelier is a great place to people watch but the size of the plaza it sits on provides a healthy distance between the patrons and the pedestrians.
Everything we had was fantastic. I had escargots and moules frites in a white wine sauce and my husband ordered the cauliflower soup and flatiron steak cooked medium rare.
The fries cooked in beef tallow were perfectly crispy. I dipped everything piece of mine in their house made mayonnaise. Both the mussels and steak melted in our mouths. The sauces of my escargots and mussels were light but had so much depth. I wished I had asked for more bread to soak them up. My husband loved his soup as well. He said the flavour was so rich he felt like he was eating cream (in a very good way).
The serving staff members were extremely pleasant as well.
We love our new neighbourhood restaurant.

This is my favourite restaurant in the city.Having been twice for dinner, each time the service, cocktails, food, and dessert have been fantastic. If you want steak frites for dinner, you won’t find a better place.Getting a seat at the bar here is the preferred spot, where you can witness this French service and head chef team make you feel like you’re really in France.
