Best French Restaurant in Vancouver.
One of our favourite restaurants! Service is fantastic, the food is incredible! We're always so impressed!
The food here is very delicious! The menu has 3 starters, 3 mains and 3 desserts to pick from and while the menu is small, everything is executed very well. The service was attentive and efficient throughout the meal. As we were celebrating a birthday they gave us a birthday card and took a Polaroid photo of us which was a very nice touch! I will definitely be back to try their other dishes and to celebrate my next birthday! 😊
Excellent French restaurant. The food, service and atmosphere are all great. Menu is simple and the way it should be...to focus on making a few dishes very good
Incredible quality food. Each dish was unique tasting. Someone mentioned the quality is equivalent to Michelin starred restaurants and I'd agree! I don't know if they were understaffed (just one server), but don't expect fast service here. As long as you're okay taking your time with dining, then this is an absolutely fantastic spot to go to for any occasion! Looking forward to coming back again!
The chandeliers. They symbolize this place: elegant, refined, dazzling. The food is beautiful to behold and pleasing to the palate, how I wish I could cook at home. And the service is genuinely caring and friendly.
Really impressed with the food here. The sablefish was cooked to perfection and I may have had the best potatoes my mortal flesh will ever see. Something so humble and plain as the potato, transformed into a flakey, crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, delight.
This is quite an interesting French restaurant. The decor is simple and minimalist, and although the space isn’t large, it feels cozy. When we arrived, it was basically full—pretty nice. By the time I’m posting this, it’s been about a month and a half since my visit, so some dishes in the photos might differ from the current menu.
One thing I really like about this place is their menu setup: appetizers, mains, and desserts, with only three options in each category. Though choices are limited, the menu changes frequently, so regulars won’t get bored.
The complimentary bread was quite good—great texture and delicious butter. The appetizers were decent; the chowder stood out more than the escargot. As for the mains, whether it was the fish, lamb shank, or duck breast, each had unique side dishes and different styles of potatoes. The included salad was also a highlight—everyone at our table loved it.
Finally, the desserts: the crème brûlée, molten lava cake, and cheesecake were all delicious. Overall, we were very satisfied, and the restaurant’s price-to-quality ratio is quite reasonable. Definitely worth revisiting.
Delicious food
I’d say the perfect 3-course menu for my liking is tuna sashimi, sablefish, and cheesecake. Top marks on presentation and portion size for each dish (: I don’t normally eat escargot or duck breast, but they tasted good. The seafood chowder and steak were delicious. Overall, 10/10 would come back again!

Went for our anniversary to try Absinthe drip and had a lovely time! Everything on the limited menu is absolutely delicious with an intimate atmosphere. We would definitely come back!
The food was excellent and it was fun to try an absinthe drip. Great evening!
I was very impress , the food was top notch, the Dishes was prepared with perfection! We ordered the sable fish and duck breast and wow how good it was especially the duck breast, it was very juicy and tender. We order the 3 course meal with appetizers , main and dessert for around $65 and all 3 was delicious . I definitely will come back again!
Must have been an off night. I have been here a few times and was very impressed but tonight not so much. My friend and I both had the same 3 course selection. Unfortunately for both of us the gnocchi was charred from the pan fry and the duck skin was rubbery and not crispy at all. Not impressed but the service and ambiance were great.
Wow. Why does this place make you want to take pics of everything from the tables, the salt and pepper shakers, the drinks, the food?? I took a bunch of pics only to come on here and see so many other pics and great comments. I have lived in the area for over 20 years, and finally made it to Absinthe for dinner this past week. My partner and I were invited by friends who wanted to express their gratitude for dog-sitting, so Absinthe wasn't even my choice...regretfully.
Anyhow, this establishment was impressive from any angle!! Setting, ambience, lighting, furniture. Oh yes, and food and drink of course. Anyone who pays attention to details, everything on the eyes were a pure treat!
The food was incredible!! All of it!! The cocktail, the bread(!) and seasoned butter, the first course, the main course and the dessert. And the wine! OMG! I so highly recommend this place. And for all you get, the price point is very fair! Set limited menu of 2 courses for $58 and 3 courses for $65. Don't skip their desserts!!
Incredible first experience...and on a Wednesday night!!
