I come to this quaint little grocery store about once a week I love how they stock fun Japanese foods for my family and I. We also like the ready made foods most of the time. The best part of this place is not only how convenient it is, but also the friendly, happy and full of knowledge staff. One lady in particular really stands out. She seems to know everything and is always friendly and considerate. (More so then the other staff) Her name is Miki, its always a pleasure seeing her. I assumed she was the shop owner because of how she carries herself, Very good job Miki, and I recommend this shop due to her kindness and the good to go tasty food. I only wish there was Kaarage to go too. Maybe one day. Thanks!

Solid little Japanese speciality shop. When I’m lucky enough to stop in before their fridge has been emptied by other customers of the day, I always try something new. Really solid little shop and a nice treat when in the area!

When I go here, I only look for chirasisi.
The price is 20 dollars.
It's so delicious.

Love this place. It feels like their products are carefully chosen. It's near my place and the skytrain, so it’s convenient to grab quick bites

There are foods, drinks, and alcohol that are familiar to Japan.

Attached to Minami, this is sort of like a high-end Japanese convenience store. They carry some Japanese seasonings, frozen and cook-at-home foods, alcohol, soft drinks, probably more grocery items too but I didn't look very hard, and a variety of restaurant-quality ready-to-eat food including sushi, rice bowls, sandos. dango, mochi/wagashi, baked goods, and more. I noticed there were a few items that were labelled as vegan. There's nowhere to sit and eat in the store, but there's parks nearby to take your food to if you want to eat on the go.
I came for lunch and got their oshi sampler and a black sesame coconut mousse. The oshi sampler included 2 pieces each of 4 different kinds of seafood - I was really impressed by how fresh the seafood tasted and by the composition of each piece of oshi. The best grab and go sushi I've ever had by a long shot. The mousse was also very good, it was very smooth and surprisingly light. It came with a cup of cookie crumble to add on top that was kept separate to preserve the crunch. I thought the dessert was good both with and without the crumble added, but the crumble was tasty enough to eat on its own!
It goes without saying this the food is more expensive than typical ready-made meals, but it's definitely worth it, and it provides a nice opportunity to get some really high quality Japanese food without going through the steps of ordering at a restaurant.

Amazing quality. I don’t remember the name of the dish, but it looked like poke bowl with sashimi and salmon roe on top. I paid 15 dollars and enjoyed it so much. The portion was so generous for that price and I even liked the rice.

The selection of snacks and drinks they have make me so nostalgic! The food was very yummy. It’s a great place if you need to grab and go! I’ll be coming again. :)

Love stopping here for a quick bite, snacks and drinks. Reasonable prices for high quality to-go sushi. The sushi is made from the Minami kitchen!

We tried out some of their offerings for dinner tonight:1. Tonkatsu ramen for 2 - $222. An 8-piece pack of aburi salmon sushi - $163. An 8-piece pack of mochi with red bean paste - $7We were both delighted with the quality of the ramen cooked according to the instructions provided. The soup was rich and creamy. The noodle was perfectly al dente (we looked them slightly longer that what the instructions say as the packs were not quietly completely thawed out when we dunk them into the pot). The chashu was tender. We have been a fan of their aburi salmon sushis for many years and the takeout pack was just like the ones we had in their restaurants. The price & quality of the ramen definitely make it a solid take-out option for us in the future.

Always great quality food, especially the grab’n’go. Reasonable prices. Love their frozen prepped meals, too. Their ice creams are my favourite in the city.

Small store specializing in Japanese goodies. There were snacks, to-go meals, alcohol, household products, and even wagyu. Cute shop and very tidy and clean. You can even heat up your instant ramen with a hot water machine. Located right in Gastown and easy walking distance from Yaletown-Roundhouse station.
